Hi everyone, my name is Angie, and I wanted to share something very personal that I believe will encourage other women who may be questioning or curious about head coverings. This isnโt something I took lightly. At first, I honestly brushed it off. I thought maybe people were making too much of a big deal about it. But after watching a few of Ya Girl Renaeโs videos and then truly asking God for myself, I realized this was bigger than just a fashion choiceโit was about obedience, faith, and the voice of the Holy Spirit.
When I first heard Renae talking about head wraps, I was intrigued but skeptical. I didnโt want to jump into something just because someone else was doing it. I believe our walk with God should always be personal and Spirit-led. So I took it to prayer. I remember one evening after watching one of her testimonies, I sat quietly and asked God, โLord, is this something You want me to do? Is this truly for me, or is it just tradition?โ Thatโs when the Holy Spirit began to reveal truth to me.
What I discovered shocked me a little. Deep down, I felt a clear impression from the Spirit that women should indeed cover their heads when they pray. It wasnโt condemnation, and it wasnโt fearโit was a gentle but powerful leading. I began to realize that the Scriptures about head coverings werenโt just some old-fashioned concept, but a living word that still matters today. The Holy Spirit whispered to me that wearing a head wrap wasnโt about appearances, but about honor, humility, and spiritual alignment.
Now, let me be transparent. Iโm not at the point where I feel comfortable wearing my head wrap everywhere I go like Renae does. I admire her boldness, and I believe sheโs walking in the freedom and conviction God has given her. But for me, the Holy Spirit has made it very clear that when I pray, my head should be covered. That much I know without a doubt, because I didnโt just take someoneโs word for itโI asked God myself, and He answered.
Since then, my prayer time feels different. It feels more intentional. Thereโs a level of reverence that comes with putting on that head wrap and entering into prayer. Itโs not about the fabric, but about the posture of my heart and the obedience of my spirit. It has honestly drawn me closer to God in a way I didnโt expect. Something as simple as a piece of cloth has become a powerful act of worship.
I also want to speak to women who are still unsure. Maybe youโve heard about it, maybe youโve dismissed it, or maybe you feel confused. My encouragement to you is this: donโt just go by what other people sayโask the Holy Spirit for yourself. He is faithful to answer. If you truly seek Him, He will show you whether or not this is what He wants for your walk. Thatโs exactly what He did for me, and I believe He will do the same for you.
Now, Iโm taking this step by step. First, Iโm embracing the head wrap in prayer. Next, I feel God might be dealing with me about makeup, but Iโm not rushing that. I want to move in His timing, not mine. All I know for now is that God has confirmed this first step, and it feels right.
So, to wrap this up (no pun intended), I just want to thank Ya Girl Renae for being bold enough to share her journey, because it encouraged me to ask God about mine. And I want to thank the Holy Spirit for confirming that head wraps are indeed something He wants for women, especially in prayer. I may not be all the way there yet, but I am on the pathโand I know this is a path God Himself has placed me on.
If youโre reading this and wondering about head wraps, I encourage you: seek God. Donโt ignore that tug on your heart. Ask Him directly, and then listen for His answer. The Holy Spirit will make it plain to you, just as He did for me.

Pep Talk | Why Does It Matter How Long the Apology Took?
I hear people say things like, โThey apologized too late,โ or, โI would have forgiven them if they had apologized years ago, but too much time has passed.โ But I started thinkingโฆ

Iโve been wearing a scarf during prayer for a while now, and I can tell you, it becomes second nature over time. Start small and stay consistent. The more you do it, the more natural it feels. I believe God honors obedience even in the little things.
Iโm glad youโre following the Spiritโs leading, Angie. I do want to point out that not every believer interprets the head covering scriptures the same way. But I respect that you didnโt just copy someoneโyou actually asked God, and He revealed it to you personally. Thatโs powerful.
Angie, thank you for sharing this! Iโm in the exact same place as youโwearing my head wrap during prayer but not quite ready to wear it out in public. I admire Ya Girl Renaeโs boldness, but I know God works with us step by step. I believe He will give us both peace when itโs time for the next level.
This is so interesting. Iโve always wondered about head wraps but never asked God about it. Do you feel like it made your prayers stronger, or more like you were being obedient? Iโm curious because Iโve been hesitant, but your post is making me think I should pray about it too.
Wow Angie, I love your testimony! Itโs amazing how the Holy Spirit confirms things when we truly seek Him. I had the same experienceโat first I thought head coverings were just cultural, but when I prayed, I also felt the nudge to cover my head in prayer. It really does change the atmosphere!
