I’m going to say what a lot of people are thinking but not saying loud enough, I’m not surprised Angel Reese is out. At all. 🙄And honestly, it’s disappointing because the talent is clearly there. Nobody is denying that. When she’s locked in, she’s a problem on that court. But lately? It feels like the focus hasn’t been basketball.

It’s been more about image, branding, modeling, and social media presence than actually dominating the game the way we know she can. And look, there’s nothing wrong with building a brand — athletes should absolutely capitalize on their opportunities. But when it starts to overshadow performance, that’s where the issue comes in.

The league is competitive. You can’t treat it like a runway and expect to keep your spot secured. Other players are grinding, improving, and showing up consistently. Meanwhile, fans are watching someone with star potential slowly drift into distraction. This isn’t hate. it’s accountability. If she gets back focused, she can easily rise again. But right now, it feels like priorities got mixed up, and the results are showing.

I hear what you’re saying, but I think it’s a little deeper than just blaming Angel Reese for “focusing on modeling.” 🖐Athletes today are not just players they’re brands, businesses, and public figures all at once. The game has changed, and with NIL deals and endorsements, players are expected to balance both performance and visibility.

Now, I do agree that performance should always come first, especially at a professional level. That’s non-negotiable. But we also have to recognize that the spotlight on Angel Reese has been intense from day one. Everything she does is watched, criticized, and amplified. That kind of pressure can impact anyone.

Also, let’s not act like she suddenly lost her skill. She’s still talented, still capable, and still has time to adjust and come back stronger. Sometimes players go through phases where things don’t align perfectly, and that doesn’t mean they’re done.

Instead of writing her off, maybe this is a moment for her to reset, refocus, and prove everyone wrong again. Because if she does? That comeback story will be even bigger than the criticism.
