I was sitting here the other day watching Basketball Wives LA and it really took me back. You know how you randomly go on a memory lane moment and start noticing things you didn’t really pay attention to before? That was me. And one thing that stood out heavy this time was Angel Brinks and her hairstyle.
Now don’t get me wrong—she’s beautiful, stylish, and clearly knows how to present herself. But I couldn’t help but notice that a lot of the time on the show, she wears her hair with that little “hump” or bump at the top, with either braids or sleek sides and the rest hanging down. And I started thinking… why that same look so often?
It’s not even coming from a place of judgment, it’s more curiosity. Because when you go look at her photos outside of the show, she does switch it up. But on TV, especially in those episodes, it’s like that hairstyle became her go-to signature. And I get it—being on reality TV, you kind of build a look that people recognize you by. That “hump” almost became part of her identity on screen.
At the same time, I’ve heard people say she wears weaves or extensions, which honestly isn’t shocking at all. A lot of women in entertainment do—it’s part of the glam, the styling, the constant filming. But I think what really caught my attention is how consistent that one particular style was. It almost makes you wonder if it was intentional for branding, or if it was just something she personally felt most confident in.
Because let’s be real—when you find a look that works for your face, your vibe, your image… sometimes you stick with it. Especially when cameras are on you and millions of people are watching.
I’m not saying anything is wrong with it at all. It just stood out to me this time around, and I had to ask—did anybody else notice that? Or am I just late picking up on something that’s been obvious this whole time?

I’m actually glad you brought this up because I thought I was the only one who noticed it. Watching Basketball Wives LA again really made me pay attention to Angel Brinks and her overall look, especially that signature “hump” hairstyle. It’s not even a bad thing—it just stands out because it’s so consistent.
I agree with you that it probably became part of her identity on the show. When you’re on reality TV, people recognize you not just by your face but by your whole vibe, and that hairstyle kind of locked her in visually. It’s like branding without saying a word. And honestly, once something works for your face and gives you that confident look, it makes sense to keep going back to it.
I also think lighting and camera angles play a role. That lifted style frames her face really well on screen, so maybe production even preferred it. And like you said, outside of the show she does switch it up, which proves she’s not stuck in one lane.
So yeah, I don’t see it as anything negative at all—just a signature look that became her thing.
