Letโ€™s be real for a secondโ€”God is not silent. We just donโ€™t like what Heโ€™s saying.

A lot of us walk around saying, โ€œIโ€™m trying to hear from God,โ€ but if weโ€™re honest, weโ€™re only open to hearing what we agree with. The moment truth shows up in a way that challenges us, corrects us, or exposes something in usโ€”we shut down. We get defensive. We dismiss it. Or worseโ€ฆ we ignore it completely.

But hereโ€™s the truth: God has been speaking to you.

Not just today. Not just recently. A long time ago.

Through people. Through situations. Through that uncomfortable feeling you keep pushing away. Through that one conversation that stuck with you longer than it should have. Through correction you didnโ€™t ask for but needed anyway.

And instead of sitting with it and going back to God like, โ€œLord, fix my heart so I can receive this,โ€ we go everywhere else. We look for validation. We look for agreement. We look for someone to tell us weโ€™re fine the way we are.

But growth doesnโ€™t happen in comfortโ€”it happens in truth.

Sometimes people arenโ€™t attacking you. Sometimes theyโ€™re revealing something you genuinely canโ€™t see about yourself. And instead of labeling them as negative or โ€œcoming for you,โ€ maybeโ€”just maybeโ€”thatโ€™s God trying to get your attention.

We say we want clarity, but we avoid conviction.
We say we want Godโ€™s voice, but we reject His method.

God is limitless. Heโ€™s not boxed into one way of speaking. He will use whateverโ€”and whoeverโ€”He needs to reach you.

The real issue isnโ€™t that God isnโ€™t speaking.
The issue is that weโ€™re not present enough to hear Him.

Weโ€™re distracted. Weโ€™re prideful. And sometimesโ€ฆ weโ€™re just not ready to accept the truth.

But hereโ€™s where it shifts: maturity is when you start praying differently.

โ€œLord, donโ€™t just speak to meโ€”prepare me to receive it.โ€
โ€œCorrect my heart so I donโ€™t reject what I need.โ€
โ€œHelp me recognize your voiceโ€”even when itโ€™s uncomfortable.โ€

Because once you get to that place, everything changes.

You stop running from truthโ€ฆ and start growing through it.

God is speaking.

The question isโ€”are you finally ready to listen?
