Thereโs something about this verse that just sits deep in my spirit and wonโt let me go. When it talks about offering your body as a living sacrifice, that hit me different. Because a sacrifice isnโt something easy. Itโs not comfortable. Itโs not convenient. Itโs something you give upโฆ fully. And when I really sat with that, I realizedโGod isnโt just asking for a moment from us. Heโs asking for us.
Not halfway. Not when it feels good. Not only when things are going right. But even when it hurts. Even when it doesnโt make sense. A living sacrifice means waking up every day and choosing God, even when everything in you wants to go back to whatโs familiar. Choosing Him when the world says, โDo what makes you happy.โ Choosing Him when your situation looks dead, when people count you out, when nothing around you reflects what God promised.
That part about not conforming to this worldโฆ thatโs real. Because the world will pull on you. It will try to shape you, break you, and make you believe that what you see is all there is. But Iโve learned that what we see isnโt always the truth. God moves in ways we canโt always understand. And sometimes the biggest act of faith is saying, โGod, I trust you,โ when nothing around you is giving you a reason to.
And thatโs where the renewing of your mind comes in. Because if you donโt let God change the way you think, youโll keep going back. Back to old habits. Back to old ways. Back to things God already brought you out of. And Iโm learning that just because something feels familiar doesnโt mean itโs right. Sometimes going back is easierโbut itโs not better.
What God showed me is that being transformed isnโt about perfection. Itโs about surrender. Itโs about saying, โGod, even when I donโt understand, Iโm still choosing you.โ Itโs trusting Him enough to believe that what He has for you is greater than what youโre holding onto. And I know for me, Iโve had moments where I didnโt see how things were going to work out. I didnโt understand the process. I didnโt like what I was going through. But deep down, there was something in me that said, โKeep going. Trust Him anyway.โ
Because Iโve felt Him. Iโve seen Him move in my life. And even when people say something is dead, something in my spirit says, โNo, God is not finished.โ Thatโs how I know He lives. Not just because of stories. Not just because of what Iโve heard. But because of what Heโs done in me.
He changes you. He shifts your mindset. He gives you strength you didnโt have before. He makes you see differently. And thatโs something nobody can take away from you. So yeahโฆ being a living sacrifice is not easy. But itโs worth it. Because I truly believe God is doing something so big in my life that when it happens, nobody will be able to take the credit but Him.
And Iโm holding onto that.
So even when itโs hardโฆ even when it doesnโt feel goodโฆ even when I donโt understandโIโm going to keep choosing God. Iโm going to keep trusting Him. Iโm not going back to what He delivered me from just because Iโm uncomfortable right now. Because I know who He is. And thatโs enough for me.
