Starting a business in 2026 means more than just having a strong business plan or startup capital—it’s about starting with spiritual clarity and divine alignment. In this new season, we must be careful about what we do and how we do it. One thing I’ve learned is that God’s understanding is far better than our own. While we may have our own plans and strategies, there’s something far more powerful that we must lean on: God’s wisdom.
The Bible tells us plainly in Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV):
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
This verse reminds us that we must first submit our plans to the Lord. Our dreams, goals, and visions for a new business must come under God’s authority. When we include Him from the very beginning, we open ourselves to His favor and direction.
In 2026, many of us feel a pull—not just to start something new, but to start something right. We feel that this is a divine season, a moment where God is calling us into a new beginning. A new covenant. When we step into business or any new venture, it must be birthed out of prayer and divine instruction. We need the advice of God to find out what He really wants for us in this season. That means making room in our day to ask Him directly, “God, what would you have me to do? How do you want me to do it?”
James 1:5 reminds us:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
This promise is essential for entrepreneurs. You’re not meant to know every answer. Instead, you’re meant to seek God’s answers. When we ask for His wisdom, He shows us what doors to walk through, what partnerships to pursue, and what strategies to use.
God wants us to focus on asking Him in prayer and asking Him for the wisdom of what to do and how to make it work. Starting a business in this way doesn’t just mean you’re looking to succeed in the world’s terms. It means you’re aligning yourself with God’s plan. When we ask Him to be in it from day one, He will guide us in every step.
This is more than just launching a brand—it’s launching a covenant with God. That covenant says, “Lord, if You aren’t in it, I don’t want it.” When we make that promise, we are stepping into His divine alignment. We’re no longer walking in our own strength, but in His purpose. And in that purpose, there is peace, provision, and protection.
We have to ask God for the Noah favor. In Genesis 6:8, the Bible says:
“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.”
That’s the favor we need when starting over. When God tore down everything in Noah’s time, He chose to start something brand new with a chosen man. That new beginning wasn’t accidental—it was intentional. It was righteous. It was aligned with God’s will. We want our business to be like that ark—built exactly according to God’s instructions, able to weather any storm, and ready to carry us into a future of promise.
When Noah followed God’s specific instructions, he didn’t just survive—he became the foundation for a whole new world. That is what we’re asking for: not just success, but divine purpose. We want our venture to reflect God’s glory, to be a testimony of His grace, and to serve others in ways that honor Him.
As Isaiah 43:19 says:
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
This is the season for new beginnings, but only through God. Let 2026 be the year where you no longer lean on your own ideas. Let this be the year where prayer becomes your business meeting, and God’s Word becomes your business manual.
So before you buy that domain, lease that office space, or announce your launch—take time to consult with the One who knows the end from the beginning. Because when God is in it, it will never fail.
