I’ve been sitting back, looking at the world around me, and the truth is—it’s getting darker every day. Violence is everywhere. You can’t turn on the news without hearing about shootings, stabbings, or some senseless act of hatred. And it’s not just in one place—it’s worldwide. Our communities are filled with chaos, our neighborhoods once safe now feel like battlegrounds. People are losing their lives in record numbers, and it’s almost as if death has become the headline of the hour.
And when you think about where to run to for help, the first thought might be government. But let me tell you, the government can’t save you. They can put out laws, they can pass out checks, they can sign papers all day long—but they can’t stop the downfall of a nation that’s already crumbling from the inside out.
Homelessness on the Rise
Everywhere you go now, you see people lying on sidewalks, under bridges, or huddled in doorways with nothing but a thin blanket to cover them. Families are losing their homes because the cost of living is too high, rent is through the roof, and wages don’t match. The sad reality is many of these people once had jobs, homes, and families, but the system failed them.
And it’s only getting worse. What used to be isolated to big cities is now spreading to small towns, places that thought they were safe from the effects of poverty. It’s a reminder that no amount of money will protect you when the structure of society is collapsing.
Death and Disease
On top of violence and homelessness, we see death rates climbing. From strange new diseases, to famines in different parts of the world, to suicides born from hopelessness, life is being snatched away faster than we can comprehend.
The Bible already warned us this would come. In Matthew 24:7, Jesus said:
“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”
That’s exactly what we see. Famine is not just lack of food in third-world countries anymore. People here in America are lining up at food banks, praying they can feed their children for the week. Disease is not just something happening overseas—it’s in our waters, in our hospitals, and in our very air.
Money Will Be Worthless
People cling to their bank accounts, their jobs, and their retirement funds, thinking these things will secure their future. But let me say it plain: your money will be no good when God’s judgment comes. Proverbs 11:4 tells us:
“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.”
No matter how much you stack up, when systems crash and governments fall, paper bills and digital numbers in a bank won’t save your soul. They won’t even feed you when shelves are empty.
Why This Is Happening
This isn’t just about bad leadership or a shaky economy. This is prophecy unfolding. We were told there would be days like this—days when men’s hearts would fail them for fear, days when famine and disease would increase, days when lawlessness would abound. And that’s why no matter how much the government tries to step in, it can’t fix what God said must come to pass.
Second Timothy 3:1-2 reminds us:
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.”
Just look around. That scripture is alive right now. People care more about themselves, their image, and their money than they do about loving one another. Violence, greed, and corruption are the fruit of that spirit.
What We Must Do
So where does this leave us? If the government can’t save us and our money won’t save us, then what hope is there? The answer is in God. Only God can provide peace in the middle of this storm. Only His Word can prepare us for what’s coming.
Psalm 46:1 says:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
That means while the world is burning down around us, while famine spreads and disease creeps in, while violence takes lives daily—we can stand secure in Him.
I’m not saying to ignore reality. No, be aware of what’s happening. Protect your families, stay alert, and don’t be blind to the times we’re living in. But know this: without God, you will crumble with the system. With God, you have a refuge, a shield, and a hope that money, government, and people can never give.
Final Thoughts
We are witnessing the crumbling of man’s systems, and it’s not going to stop. The Bible tells us things will get worse before Christ returns. Violence will keep rising, homelessness will spread, disease and famine will keep claiming lives, and money will lose its value. But those who put their trust in God will find life, strength, and peace even in the darkest of days.
So, I say this from my heart—don’t lean on the government, don’t lean on your money. Lean on God. Because at the end of the day, He’s the only one who can save you.
