Daily Devotional: We Are One in Christ
Scripture of the Day:
“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” — Galatians 3:28
What This Scripture Means
This verse is a powerful declaration of unity in Christ. Paul was reminding the Galatian believers that in the Kingdom of God, our earthly categories—race, social status, or gender—no longer define our worth. The world often divides us by culture, class, or background, but in Jesus Christ, those barriers are broken down. We are not judged by worldly labels but are seen as children of God, equally loved and equally valued.
This doesn’t mean that our differences don’t exist. Rather, it means that they don’t determine our place in God’s family. Unity in Christ is greater than division in the world.
A Story to Reflect On
Imagine a church where people from every walk of life gather: a wealthy business owner sits next to a young single mother; a college student worships beside a retired veteran; immigrants pray alongside those born and raised in the community. In the eyes of the world, they may seem different, but in the presence of Christ, they are family.
Years ago, a small church in a rural town experienced revival. What made it remarkable wasn’t the size of the congregation but the love they had for one another. People who, outside those church doors, would have never spoken to each other, became brothers and sisters in Christ. They shared meals, prayed together, and cared for one another’s needs. That fellowship reflected the truth of Galatians 3:28—unity in Christ tears down walls the world tries to build.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that in Christ, I am not defined by my past, my social status, or my outward identity. I am defined by Your love and the sacrifice of Jesus. Lord, help me to see others the way You see them—not through the lens of division, but through the eyes of unity and grace. Remove any pride, prejudice, or barriers in my heart, and make me a vessel of Your love. May my life reflect the truth that we are all one in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
