I want to talk about something that’s been sitting on my heart for a while now, because I see it happening all over social media and especially on YouTube. So many creators are out here talking about anybody and everybody, and they’re quick to pull out the Word of God when it benefits them. But the way they’re using it isn’t always to spread the Word in maturity, it’s not to build people up—it’s being used as a weapon, or worse, as a hustle. They’ll use the Bible to justify dragging someone, or to call somebody out based off their own feelings, not what God actually said. And when that happens, it causes harm instead of healing.
But here’s what I love, and this is where I want us to really sit for a minute. When you look at Paul in the Bible, he gave us a perfect example of how to handle this. Paul was content in everything. Even when he was in prison, even when people were trying to use the Word against him out of envy and rivalry, he didn’t trip. He literally said, “That’s fine with me, because even though they’re trying to attack me, the Word of God is still being spread.”
Do you realize how powerful that is? Paul could’ve complained. He could’ve begged God to strike them down. He could’ve said, “Why me?” But instead, he said, “If the Word is going forth, even if their motives are wrong, God is still getting the glory.” And that right there is the attitude we’ve got to hold onto.
This is why God tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Because even when people mean evil toward us, God can turn it into a blessing. That persecution, that hate, those lies, that mocking—it’s actually preparing you for the Kingdom. It’s shaping your character, it’s teaching you patience, it’s forcing you to lean on Him and not yourself. And in the end, God still wins.
So when you see people online dragging folks in the name of the Lord, don’t let it shake your faith. Don’t let it make you bitter. Understand that the Word of God doesn’t lose power just because someone is misusing it. His Word still goes out and accomplishes what it’s meant to, whether it comes from a sincere heart or from someone chasing clicks and views.
I know it hurts when people twist Scripture against you or try to make you look bad in the name of religion. I’ve been there, I’ve felt that sting. But I also know this—if Paul could be content in a prison cell, chained up and lied on, then I can be content knowing that God is still getting the glory even in my situation.
At the end of the day, remember this: your job is not to clap back, your job is not to prove yourself. Your job is to trust God, love your enemies, and know that even in persecution, you’re being prepared for the Kingdom. That’s the real blessing.
Hope this blesses you, fam.

What troubles me just as much, though, is not only the leadership issues but the culture that seems to have developed among some people in the congregation. Too often it feels like many people are…
