I’ve been using Fiverr for a while now, and let me just say it — the platform is really starting to fall apart. One of the biggest problems is that you can’t get a clear view of who’s actually selling you the service. Everything looks polished on the surface, but once you pay, it’s a gamble.
Now, I’m not saying there aren’t good people on Fiverr — there definitely are. There are talented freelancers who do great work and treat their clients right. But lately, it feels like those people are harder and harder to find because the site is flooded with actors pretending to be experts. They sell services they have no real experience in, slap together a nice profile video, and lure people in with too-good-to-be-true prices. Then, once they get your money, you realize they had no idea what they were doing.
What’s worse is that Fiverr lets them keep doing it. When their accounts get bad reviews, they just open new ones and start over — same scams, same fake professionalism. And who pays the price? The honest buyers who trusted them. You spend your money thinking you’re getting professional help, but instead you’re left frustrated, disappointed, and sometimes completely ignored.
And don’t even try to speak up about it, because the moment you say you’re unhappy with the service, they get defensive and disrespectful. I’ve had sellers talk down to me, argue, and even blame me for their poor work. Fiverr’s support team? They’ll send you a generic message that solves nothing. The platform used to feel like a place where freelancers and buyers could connect in good faith — but now it feels like a marketplace of chaos where people can do whatever they want without real accountability.
Honestly, I think Fiverr needs a total redo. Better verification. Real background checks on sellers. And stricter rules about who can open new accounts. Because as it stands right now, Fiverr is on a downhill slide — and if they don’t clean it up soon, the real professionals will leave, and all that’ll be left are scammers with new usernames and fake smiles.
