Let me tell you something, family — it’s so important to know the voice of Jezebel, because if you don’t, she’ll have you second-guessing yourself, your calling, and even your faith. Jezebel isn’t always loud or obvious. Sometimes she comes through that quiet voice in your head that says you’re not good enough, that everyone has done you wrong, or that God didn’t come through for you like He said He would. That’s her favorite game — planting seeds of doubt and confusion until you start questioning your worth and your walk with God.
This spirit loves to entertain and distract. She’ll make you feel like you’re the problem, like you don’t measure up, or like you’ve missed something that everybody else has. But see, that’s where the danger comes in. If you don’t know the difference between the voice of God and the voice of Jezebel, you’ll start believing the lies she tells. And once she gets in your emotions, she’ll use that confusion to keep you stuck — circling in the same hurt, the same regret, and the same thoughts of being “less than.”
But God is calling His people to wake up and recognize when it’s not Him speaking. Because His Word says, “My sheep know My voice, and a stranger they will not follow.” That means when the enemy starts whispering things that don’t line up with God’s truth — that you’re not loved, that you’re forgotten, that you’re not worthy — you have to immediately rebuke that voice. You have to know right then and there that’s the devil trying to steal your peace and destroy your faith.
Jezebel operates through manipulation, through emotions, and through words. She’ll use people, conversations, or even your own thoughts to try to pull you down. She loves confusion, she loves drama, and she thrives on making you feel small. But the moment you stand firm in the Word of God, she loses her grip. You have to remind yourself daily who you are in Christ — that you are chosen, loved, and covered by His blood.
Sometimes Jezebel will even throw your past in your face. She’ll bring up old wounds, old mistakes, or people who hurt you, just to distract you from what God is doing right now. She’ll say, “See, God didn’t fix that situation,” or “If He really loved you, you wouldn’t still be struggling.” But that’s when you have to stand your ground and speak truth back into the atmosphere: “I’m not who I used to be. I’m walking in my purpose. I know who my God is, and He is faithful.”
So when you start feeling that spirit of confusion, anxiety, or insecurity creeping in — stop and listen. Ask yourself, “Does this sound like God’s voice or Jezebel’s?” Because God’s voice will never condemn you, belittle you, or make you doubt His love. Jezebel’s will.
This is the time to rise up, recognize the voice of the enemy, and fight back with faith. Tell Jezebel she’s lost her place in your life. You’re walking forward, not backward. You’re no longer letting the devil play those same cards. God’s already dealt a new hand — and in this one, you win.
Renae, this post was pure truth. The enemy doesn’t always show up with horns sometimes it’s that familiar voice trying to guilt you or make you feel unworthy. You’re right, it’s time to call Jezebel out by name and stop letting her rule the atmosphere. I’ve started declaring out loud every morning: “I know God’s voice, and no other will I follow.” That one line has changed how I start my day. Keep shining light on this topic!

I needed this!!!! I’ve been feeling attacked spiritually and emotionally, and this post reminded me that confusion is not from God. Jezebel will use whoever she can to throw you off track, especially when you’re close to your breakthrough. I’m standing firm now, praying more, and reminding myself daily that God didn’t give me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Thank you, Renae, for speaking boldly about this! 💖
This message was fire! We really have to train our spiritual ears. I’ve seen how Jezebel works through manipulation one minute it’s sympathy, the next it’s gossip and confusion. The part where you said “she’ll even twist what God said” hit me hard. That’s exactly what the enemy does twist God’s Word just enough to cause doubt. Thank you for reminding us to stay rooted in the truth.
Whew, this right here gave me chills! You’re so right, Renae that Jezebel spirit comes dressed up real nice sometimes, acting like she’s trying to help you or understand you, but deep down, she’s just trying to drain your energy. I had someone in my life like that, always talking down on me but calling it “concern.” I finally recognized it for what it was. Once I prayed and cut ties, peace came rushing back in. God really does give us discernment if we listen! 🙌🏾
Amen, sis! I felt every word of this. I used to let that Jezebel spirit make me feel small like I had to apologize for being blessed or for walking in my calling. But no more! I know God’s voice, and I’m not entertaining confusion anymore. Thank you for the encouragement and truth! 💪🏽🔥
This was deep! I’ve been going through a season where I couldn’t tell if it was God speaking or just my own fear. Reading this helped me see that the confusion wasn’t from Him at all. Jezebel really does love to play mind games and make you feel like you’re not enough. But like you said, once you know the Word, you can call it out and fight back. Great post, Renae.
