This storm Melissa is no joke — Jamaica is about to face something we’ve never seen before. The winds are wild, roofs flying off, and people are scared out of their minds. I just keep praying that everyone makes it out alive and that God covers every family on that island. If you can get out, please go. Don’t try to be brave when nature is this angry. This storm feels different — it feels like the one that changes everything.

I’m honestly heartbroken watching what’s happening in Jamaica right now. Hurricane Melissa isn’t just another storm — this one feels different. The news is calling it one of the worst to ever threaten the island, and from the looks of the satellite footage and local videos online, that’s not an exaggeration. The winds are violent, the water is rising fast, and you can literally see roofs being ripped away like they’re paper. Jamaica has been through hurricanes before, but something about Melissa feels like the kind of storm that changes everything.
When I watched the video showing how powerful the winds were, it hit me hard. People’s homes — everything they’ve worked for — could be gone in seconds. Families are scared, and rightfully so. This isn’t just about losing material things, this is about survival. I can only imagine the fear of hearing that wind roar outside your window, knowing that you might not make it through the night if things get worse.
If you’re in Jamaica right now and you can get to safety, please go. I know some people want to protect their homes, but no house is worth your life. Evacuate if you have the means. Don’t wait until it’s too late, because once that storm hits full strength, there may be no way out.
To everyone reading this — please take a moment to pray for the people of Jamaica. Pray for the children, the elderly, and the families who have nowhere else to go. Pray that God’s protection covers them and that this storm weakens before it hits the island with its full force. Melissa is a reminder that nature is powerful, but faith, unity, and preparation can save lives. Jamaica needs all of our prayers right now.
