I’m honestly fed up, The U.S. Postal Service just hiked prices AGAIN, and they did it right before the holidays like we wouldn’t notice. We’re out here struggling to buy groceries, gas, and gifts now even sending a Christmas card feels like a luxury. Something has to give because America’s working class is hanging on by a thread right now.

I don’t even know where to start with this one, because it’s just downright ridiculous. The U.S. Postal Service has officially lost touch with reality. They’ve raised prices on sending mail and they did it just weeks before the holiday season starts. Like, are they serious? The same time when families are mailing gifts, cards, and care packages, they decide to jack up the prices. It’s like every time we turn around, another hand is digging in our pockets.
You can’t even send a simple letter anymore without feeling like you’re taking out a small loan. And the wild part? There’s still no guarantee it’s even going to get there on time! We’re paying more for slower service, delayed mail, and lost packages. It’s a slap in the face. People used to say “the mail must go through.” Now it’s more like “the mail might go through… eventually.” 🙄
I feel for small business owners the most. People who sell crafts, vintage clothes, homemade products all the folks trying to make ends meet by shipping things across the country or even overseas this is going to hit them hard. Imagine having to explain to your customers that prices went up again, not because you wanted them to, but because the USPS decided to squeeze the public even tighter right before the busiest season of the year.
And what’s worse, everything else is going up too. Groceries, gas, utilities, you name it. Now the government wants to add postage stamps and shipping fees to that list? It’s insanity. Everyday Americans are drowning in costs. We’re already struggling just to afford the basics and now we’re being told it’s going to cost even more to send a birthday card to Grandma or return a broken item to a store.
Honestly, I’m tired of hearing “inflation this, inflation that.” At some point, you can’t keep blaming “inflation” for everything. It’s become an excuse. Because while we’re told to “tighten our belts,” the big corporations and government agencies sure aren’t doing that. They’re still getting paid, still taking bonuses, still increasing prices as if the average person has money trees growing in the backyard.
You know what’s really sad? Sending mail used to be something simple, something normal. A kid could mail a letter to Santa. A soldier could send a postcard home. Families could exchange holiday cards. Now it’s like “can I even afford to do that this year?” It shouldn’t be that way. It’s supposed to bring people together, not make them choose between sending a gift and paying their light bill.
The U.S. Postal Service is supposed to serve the people, not punish them. But instead of finding real solutions, like improving efficiency or cutting unnecessary spending, they just pass the burden straight to us. Again. And every time they do, they say it’s “to keep up with costs.” Okay, but who’s keeping up with our costs? Who’s helping the people who actually fund these systems? Because right now, it feels like no one.
This is how you destroy trust. This is how people stop believing in the institutions that were built to serve them. I shouldn’t have to think twice before mailing a small package or worry that my Christmas gifts will get lost in transit and cost a fortune to ship.
Enough is enough. Somebody has to step in and say, “This can’t go on.” Because at this rate, soon only the rich will be able to afford to send a letter — and that’s not what America is supposed to be about.
We’re tired, we’re stretched thin, and we’re sick of watching prices rise while service quality drops. If this is the new “normal,” then we need to start asking serious questions about who’s really running things — and who they’re really working for.
