Excerpt:
Weโve gotten so used to hearing parents curse at their children that itโs starting to seem normal โ but itโs not. Itโs emotional abuse, and itโs teaching kids the wrong kind of love. We need to stop passing down pain and start showing real respect and care to our children before another generation grows up thinking that anger equals love.

You ever just walk down the street or go inside a store and hear a young mom or dad cursing out their child like theyโre arguing with another grown person? I mean, it breaks my heart every single time. ๐ Youโll hear, โSit your bleep down!โ or โWhatโs wrong with you?โ โ and this is being yelled at a child whoโs barely old enough to tie their shoes. Itโs sad because weโve gotten so desensitized to it. People just keep walking, pretending not to hear it, like this kind of behavior is normal parenting now.
Letโs be real โ this is abuse. Not the kind that leaves physical marks, but the kind that scars a childโs heart. ๐ Words cut deeper than people realize. When you constantly speak to a child like theyโre worthless, they start believing it. They grow up thinking thatโs what love looks like โ that yelling, cursing, and being disrespected is how people show they care. Thatโs how cycles start. Thatโs how hurt gets passed down from one generation to the next.
And hereโs the truth nobody wants to admit: a lot of these parents are kids themselves, emotionally speaking. ๐ง They never healed from their own trauma. They never learned how to communicate without yelling, because maybe their parents yelled at them too. So now, the same hurt is being recycled through their children. This is exactly why we always say โ children shouldnโt be having children. Because raising a child takes patience, emotional stability, and understanding. And if youโre still in your own โchild phase,โ youโre going to raise that baby in chaos instead of love.
Weโve got to stop normalizing this. Itโs not โtough love.โ Itโs not โkeeping it real.โ Itโs toxic. ๐ซ You can correct a child without crushing their spirit. You can teach discipline without disrespect. But nowadays, it feels like too many people think being loud equals being a good parent. โIโm just telling them how it is,โ they say. But no, youโre not telling them how it is โ youโre teaching them to respond to the world with anger, because thatโs all they see at home.
And what happens when that same child grows up? They start to mirror that behavior in school, in relationships, on the job. They donโt know how to communicate without yelling, they donโt know how to solve conflict without lashing out. Then society calls them โdisrespectful,โ but the truth is โ they learned it from somewhere.
So maybe itโs time we take a deep breath and reflect. Parenting isnโt just about providing food and clothes. Itโs about building character, teaching love, and creating peace inside the home. โค๏ธ You canโt build a loving child in an environment full of yelling and name-calling. Thatโs not love โ thatโs pain disguised as parenting.
If we want a better future, it starts right there โ in how we talk to our children. They are not our punching bags. Theyโre little humans who deserve kindness, even when theyโre testing our patience. Because if we canโt give them that, then what are we really teaching them about love?
Itโs time to stop the cycle, start healing, and show the next generation that strength comes from love โ not loudness. โจ
