I don’t even know where to start, because this one really hit me hard. YouTube just wiped out my entire watch history from every single channel I’ve ever subscribed to and I mean every one of them.

All those years of progress bars, all those “watched” labels, all the careful tuning of my algorithm it’s all gone. Vanished. I logged in the other day, and it looked like I just created a new account yesterday.
For years, I built up my YouTube experience exactly how I wanted it. The algorithm knew what I liked to watch, what I didn’t, what I skipped, and what I replayed. It felt personal—like my feed was built just for me. But now? I’m being shown old videos I already watched years ago and random uploads from channels I barely even follow. My homepage looks like a time capsule of 2018, and none of my favorite creators’ new videos are being pushed at all.
At first, I thought maybe it was a glitch on my phone. Then I checked my Apple TV. Same thing. Every video from every channel looks untouched, like I’ve never seen it before. No progress bar, no memory of what I watched, no “watched” tag nothing. Just a blank slate. It’s honestly so frustrating, because my watch history wasn’t just a list of videos—it was years of effort, years of shaping my recommendations into something that actually reflected me.
Now, it’s like YouTube completely forgot who I am. I used to open the app and instantly see new uploads from channels I loved. Now I get bombarded with old reruns, outdated content, and videos I would’ve never clicked on in a million years. The algorithm that used to be so spot-on is now throwing spaghetti at the wall hoping something sticks.
And the worst part? There’s been no explanation. No notice, no email, nothing. If this was some kind of system update, YouTube really dropped the ball by not telling people. Because for longtime users like me, this feels like starting from scratch and that’s not fair.
Watch history is the foundation of how YouTube works. It decides what we get recommended, what gets pushed, what gets ignored—it’s how the whole system learns. Wiping that clean doesn’t just mess up our recommendations; it erases years of data we helped build by watching, liking, and interacting. That’s time we can’t get back.
Now I can’t even remember where I left off in multi-part videos or series. I have podcasts I follow, long playlists, and creators I’ve supported for years—and YouTube just reset all of it. I don’t even know where I stopped watching. It’s beyond frustrating.
If anyone else is going through this, you’re not alone. It seems like something big happened behind the scenes, but YouTube hasn’t said a word. For a platform that’s supposed to be so advanced, this kind of reset feels sloppy and careless.
I shouldn’t have to rebuild my whole algorithm from scratch. I shouldn’t have to “teach” YouTube who I am all over again. This isn’t just a technical issue—it’s a loss of personalization that took years to create.
So yeah, I’m mad. Mad that it happened, mad that no one explained it, and mad that all my favorite channels now look like I’ve never even watched a single video. YouTube needs to fix this, and fast. Because this isn’t just a bug—it’s a total wipeout of everything that made the experience personal.
Meta Description: Can y’all believe this? YouTube literally wiped my entire watch history across all my devices no progress bars, no watched labels, nothing. My algorithm’s completely broken, and now I’m being shown old videos like I just joined yesterday. Anyone else dealing with this mess?

So sorry that this happened to you….
