Every few months, like clockwork, a new rumor pops up online saying that “stimulus checks are coming next week.” And I’m not gonna lie, every time I see one, I stop what I’m doing. Because who wouldn’t want a little extra help right now? Life is expensive. Groceries cost like we’re buying luxury items, rent is acting brand new, and gas? Don’t even get me started on gas. 🤦🏽‍♀️

But let’s go ahead and break this down in a mature, grown-folk, common-sense way so we don’t keep getting played by social media posts with blurry screenshots and fake IRS logos.

Here are the facts the real ones about these supposed November 2025 stimulus payments.

First of all… Congress has not passed ANY legislation for new stimulus checks. None. Zero. Congress can barely agree on lunch, let alone a fresh round of economic impact payments. And without Congress approving it, the IRS literally cannot send one single dollar. That’s how the system works.

Now, the confusion comes from something the IRS actually did do but it happened back in 2024, and it wasn’t a new stimulus. In 2024, the IRS announced that they would automatically issue payments to people who didn’t claim their Recovery Rebate Credit from 2021. That was basically a “catch-up” payment for folks who were supposed to get money from the 2021 stimulus, but either missed the credit or didn’t file correctly.

Those payments? They were up to $1,400 per person, and THAT is what started the swirl of “stimulus checks are coming back” rumors. Every time someone sees that old headline, they repost it like it’s breaking news and suddenly everybody’s phone is buzzing again.

But here’s the key thing:
That was a one-time correction, not a new stimulus program.

There is nothing scheduled for November 2025.

Until then, don’t let these fake posts play with your emotions and expectations. We too grown for that. And honestly, we deserve better than confusing misinformation when people are really out here trying to survive.
