Manโฆ clickbait really be ruining the whole experience on YouTube and Iโm honestly over it.
The WORST part? That thumbnail be straight up ridiculousโฆ and then you click the video and that moment is NOWHERE in it. Like what?? ๐ You got this wild image making it seem like something crazy happened, and then you sit through the video waiting for itโฆ and it never comes. Thatโs not even marketing at that point, thatโs just misleading people.
And what gets me isโฆ itโs their loss. I donโt even click that stuff anymore. Soon as I see something that look fake or overly dramatic, Iโm scrolling right past it. No second thought. And I know Iโm not the only one doing that either. The sad part is, a lot of these creators actually GOT talent. Iโve seen it myself. They can edit, they can talk, they got good ideasโฆ but instead of just letting that speak, they lean all the way into clickbait like itโs the only way to win. Itโs likeโฆ why?? You could build a real audience off being authentic, but instead you choosing short-term clicks over long-term respect. Thatโs wild to me.
And donโt even get me started on those โreactionโ or โanalysisโ videosโฆ especially with artists. You already know the type. Every single video is overly positive, hyped up, acting like EVERYTHING is amazing. Nobody ever critiques anything, nobody keeps it real. Itโs just โOMG THIS WAS INSANE!!!โ every single time.
Like come onโฆ we not stupid.
Itโs obvious a lot of them doing that just to ride the fanbase wave. Say nice things, get shared, get views, repeat. Itโs a whole system. And yeah it works, but it donโt feel real at all. It feel calculated. Iโm not saying everything gotta be negative, but at least be honest. If something mid, say itโs mid. If something fire, say itโs fire. That balance is what makes people trust you. Without that, it just feels like you performing for clicks.
Thatโs why I respect the creators who actually give real opinions, even if itโs not what people wanna hear. The ones who break things down, who got experience, who not afraid to say โnah this couldโve been better.โ They not screaming, they not doing the most, but you can tell they KNOW what they talking about. And yeah, they might not go viral like the clickbait crowdโฆ but their audience? Solid. Loyal. Real. At this point, Iโd rather watch something genuine with 10k views than something fake with a million.
Clickbait might get you in the door, but it wonโt keep people there. And a lot of these creators gonna learn that the hard way. Stop faking itโฆ and just be real. Itโs really that simple.
