A man and a woman are angrily shouting at each other, with intense expressions and exaggerated gestures. The background is neutral, emphasizing their emotional confrontation.

I had to share my experience about what I faced when I went to the doctor’s office in this location. Now, I went there because at the end of the day, I needed help to get my teeth fixed. And I know that many people who are on Social Security or low income, they have to go this route to take care of themselves because they really don’t have any other options.

But when I went to this location, it just seems like the first doctor I had, he was really, really good. He took really good care of me. He made me feel comfortable, like I was actually being helped and not just rushed through. So I felt good about being there. Then one day I went into the office and I realized that the doctor that was taking care of me was gone. Just gone. No explanation, nothing. So I was faced with another dentist.

This dentist, when I went there, he saw me a few times. And one of the things that he told me was, “Oh, you have so many issues in your mouth, you’re going to need to find somebody else who can do the work because some of the work we don’t do here.” Which is understandable, I get that. Not every place does everything.

But the way he handled it? Completely different story. Even when he was looking at my mouth saying there was a lot of things wrong, that I needed to pretty much find it on my own, he didn’t really give me any recommendations. No guidance, no “try this place,” nothing. Just left me hanging. And honestly, I thought his bedside manner was very sloppy.

Unfortunately, he messed it up for everybody there. Because I really liked the staff. I thought the staff was great overall. Now, the front desk people? Yeah… they need a little work. They really have a hard time with being sociable and understanding. It’s crazy to me how people can work in a medical office and not know how to deal with people. Like, this is literally your job. But this doctor that I had? He was terrible.

Left me now still sitting here trying to figure out where I’m going to go to get the help that I need. And that’s the part that really frustrates me. It’s bad enough that when you’re on Medicaid or Medicare, it already feels like nobody really wants to take care of you. They don’t care that you’re struggling to pay your bills or that you can’t afford the proper insurance or because you have a disability. It already feels like you’re limited.

So when you finally find a place that seems decent, and then one bad doctor comes in and ruins the whole experience? That’s a problem. I would rate them a 1 in my book for the service that I got. Very, very unprofessional. This office was a really good office, but one bad doctor—one doctor that didn’t know how to handle patients—messed everything up.
