I’m gonna say it straight… something about YouTube just doesn’t sit right, and a lot of people been noticing it for a while now. You got Black creators out here putting in REAL work—creative, consistent, building communities—and then outta nowhere their views drop, their videos get demonetized, or they just stop getting pushed. No explanation, no warning, nothing. It’s like you wake up one day and your content just… disappears from the algorithm.
And the crazy part? When people speak up about it, it gets brushed off like it’s nothing. Lawsuits get dismissed, complaints get ignored, and the conversation gets shut down before it even gets real traction. That’s the part that feels off. If there’s nothing going on, then why not address it head on?
Let’s be real—shadowbanning is something creators FEEL, even if the platform won’t admit it. You know your numbers, you know your audience, you know when something changes. When your reach suddenly drops but your content hasn’t changed, it raises questions. And a lot of creators feel like it happens the moment they start speaking on certain topics or saying things that don’t fit a certain narrative.
That’s frustrating.
Because now it’s not just about creating anymore—it feels like you gotta walk on eggshells. Like you gotta filter your thoughts, tone things down, or avoid certain conversations just to stay visible. And that takes away from the whole point of having a platform in the first place. Meanwhile, you see other creators doing similar or even more controversial content and they still getting pushed, still monetized, still growing. So naturally people start asking… what’s really going on here?
This isn’t about hating on anybody else—it’s about fairness. If the rules apply, they should apply across the board. If content gets flagged, there should be clear reasons. If something is being suppressed, creators deserve transparency, not silence.
At the end of the day, creators just want a level playing field. Nobody’s asking for handouts—just consistency, honesty, and the same opportunity to grow without feeling like the system is quietly working against them.
Until YouTube starts being more open about how things actually work behind the scenes, these conversations aren’t going anywhere. And honestly? They shouldn’t.
