
Developing a PICO Question for Ischemic Stroke Rehabilitation
Evidence-based practice is an important part of nursing because nurses must be able to identify clinical problems, locate reliable research, and determine whether the available evidence can improve patient care. One method for organizing a clinical question is the PICO format. PICO represents Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome. Developing a focused PICO question can make the literature-search process more efficient and help nurses locate research that directly addresses a specific clinical concern.
