A major gambling crackdown has taken place in St. Petersburg, Florida, after state and local authorities targeted two businesses as part of an enforcement effort known as “Operation Final Spin.” On September 10, 2026, the Florida Gaming Control Commission, working alongside the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, and the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, executed search warrants at Action Arcade and The Zoo Sports Club and Grille.

According to authorities, investigators seized a combined 163 alleged illegal slot machines and $247,285 in cash. At Action Arcade, officials reported seizing 90 machines and $142,020. Two individuals were issued notices to appear on allegations involving possession of slot machines and keeping a gambling house.

At The Zoo Sports Club and Grille, authorities reported seizing 73 machines and $105,265. One individual received a notice to appear on allegations involving possession of slot machines and acting as an agent or employee of a gambling house. It is important to remember that the individuals facing allegations have not been convicted simply because charges or notices to appear were issued.

This Is Bigger Than Two Businesses

The St. Petersburg raids are part of a much larger effort against unauthorized gambling operations throughout Florida. The Florida Gaming Control Commission says more than 200 illegal arcades have been shut down during its broader enforcement efforts.

Florida tightly regulates where slot machines can legally operate, meaning the machines people encounter at neighborhood arcades, bars, or other businesses aren’t automatically legal simply because they’re openly available to customers.
