There’s something I feel led to share with you today. It’s not polished or formal. It’s just a word straight from the heart—a word that I believe is for somebody who’s been wrestling with doubt, fear, or uncertainty about their purpose.
If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose on the third day (Romans 10:9), then I want to challenge you with this: Why is it so hard to believe that God has chosen you for something greater?
So many of us accept the miracle of salvation but struggle to accept the assignment that comes with it. You believe that God is powerful enough to save you, but you question whether He could really want to use you. And that’s where I want to pause and talk plainly.
God doesn’t make mistakes. He’s not second-guessing when He calls you. He didn’t overlook your flaws or forget your past. He chose you knowing everything about you—and still said, you are good for the job.
Stop Telling God What You’re Not
Too many people are living their lives focused on everything they’re not. “I’m not good enough.” “I don’t speak well.” “I’ve made too many mistakes.” Sound familiar? Even Moses said something similar when God called him:
Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent… I am slow of speech and tongue.”
—Exodus 4:10 (NIV)
But God wasn’t swayed by Moses’ excuses, and He’s not swayed by yours. He’s the Creator. Who are we to tell the One who made us what we’re not capable of? When He says you are chosen, you are anointed, and you are enough, our job is to believe Him—not debate Him.
The Peach Parable
Let me share something God placed on my heart. He gave me this image of a man walking into a grocery store to buy peaches. The man takes his time. He walks through the produce section and carefully inspects each piece of fruit. He doesn’t grab the first thing he sees. No—he looks, checks, and chooses the ones that are ripe, sweet, and just right for what he wants.
He pays for them. He gets his receipt. He goes home with full intention of using what he’s purchased.
That’s exactly how God chooses us. He sees us. He inspects our hearts. He selects us—not because we’re perfect, but because He knows what we’re capable of. He paid the price through Jesus on the cross. And the blood is the receipt that proves the transaction has been completed.
You are not junk fruit. You’re not damaged goods. You were selected. Paid for. And intended for use.
When God said you are chosen, He meant it. He sees you as valuable. And just like that man who left the store with full confidence that he’d chosen the right peaches, God walks with you saying, “This one. I picked this one. And I know what I’m doing.”
Faith Without Proof
Some people are like the disciples who needed to see before they could believe. Like Thomas, who couldn’t accept the resurrection until he saw the wounds for himself (John 20:25). But God is calling us to believe before the signs. To trust Him simply because He is God.
“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
—John 20:29 (NIV)
Don’t be like the ones who delay obedience because they need confirmation, validation, or applause. You don’t need anyone else’s stamp of approval when God has already chosen you.
You Were Made In His Image
Genesis 1:27 tells us we were made in God’s image. That’s not just about appearance—it’s about identity. You carry His likeness. That means the creativity, strength, love, and power that’s in Him is reflected in you. When you say “I’m not made for this,” you’re denying what’s been planted inside you from the beginning.
Listen: God didn’t place that idea in your heart, that vision in your spirit, or that burden in your soul for no reason. If He called you, He equipped you. You may feel unsure, but He is never unsure about you.
Walk in Confidence
Let this be your turning point. No more questioning your worth. No more rejecting the call. If God says you are chosen, then walk like it. Pray like it. Serve like it. Create like it. Preach like it. Love like it.
Because the receipt—the cross—is proof that you’re more than qualified.
