Today I want to share a heartfelt message inspired by Genesis 28. When Jacob called on God in his moment of fear and uncertainty, it reminded me that every believer today has the same right and the same access to God’s protection and power. This post explains why knowing the Word of God is essential and how it strengthens us to face the enemy with confidence.

Today, I want to share something very important. God touched my heart, and He allowed me to spend time reading Genesis chapter 28. In particular, verse 20 stood out to me in a powerful way. This verse describes how Jacob made a vow to God, asking for His protection while Jacob was dealing with everything surrounding his situation in Haran. Jacob knew where to go when he needed help. He knew who held the power to cover him, to guide him, and to keep him safe.
As I reflected on this passage, it reminded me of how we should carry ourselves in our everyday lives. We need to recognize that as believers, we must go to God to fight our battles. We need to know who to turn to when life becomes overwhelming. Every person in the Bible, when faced with trouble or danger, went directly to God because they believed—without hesitation—that God could deliver them. And He did, time and time again.
This is something we need to get back to. We must tap into that same understanding and confidence. The problem many people face today is not that the enemy is more powerful than they are. The problem is that the enemy is attacking us, and he is winning only because many of us do not know the Word of God. Without the Word, we cannot fight spiritually. Without the Word, we cannot recognize the lies of the enemy. Without the Word, we cannot stand firmly when life becomes heavy and confusing.
When you read the Word of God and study it for yourself, you begin to understand the power that God holds. You begin to see how He saved so many people in Scripture and delivered them from everything that came against them. You begin to recognize that God is consistent—what He did for them, He is able to do for you.
But if you do not know how to fight using the Word of God, or if you do not believe what the Word says, then how can you possibly fight the enemy? How can you overcome the spiritual battles that come against you daily?
One thing we can all agree on is this: Jesus Christ is Lord, and even the devil trembles at the name of Jesus. That alone should remind us of the authority we carry when we speak His name. If the devil trembles at the name of Jesus, then why do so many believers struggle to trust that God can intervene in their situations? Why do we doubt our own prayers?
We must understand this clearly: if you have the Word of God, and the Word is God, and the Word was with God, and God is the beginning and the end, then there is nothing He cannot do. Your prayers are not empty. Your faith is not powerless. You have the right to call on Him just as Jacob did. You have the right to be protected just as Abraham was. You are part of the same family of faith.
We are not outsiders looking in. We are children of God, and we have every right to go to Him boldly, confidently, and with expectation. The same God who moved in the lives of those in Scripture is the same God who moves today.
It is time for us to remember who we belong to, who fights for us, and who hears every prayer we speak. God has not changed. His power has not changed. And His love for His people has not changed.

Nothing better than fighting with the word. This is the only true weapon.🙏🙏🙏💝
This message is a powerful reminder of how often we try to fight spiritual battles with physical strength. You are absolutely right Jacob went directly to God because he understood where his protection came from. We forget that the enemy only gains ground when we put the Word aside. Thank you for bringing this back to the forefront.
