Let’s be real for a moment. Life is loud. People are always talking—giving opinions, sharing advice, trying to tell you what to do, where to go, who to be. It’s easy to get caught up in all that noise and start feeling confused, overwhelmed, and unsure of yourself. But let me tell you something that will change your life if you let it:
All you need is the voice of God. Yes. That’s it. You don’t need the approval of the world. You don’t need to check in with twenty people. You don’t need a long list of opinions. You need God’s voice, and once you have that, everything else becomes clear.
Why People Are So Confused
So many people today are confused because they’re listening to the wrong voices. They’re looking for answers from friends, social media, celebrities, or even strangers online. They jump from one opinion to another, and by the end of the day, they’re more lost than when they started.
But here’s the truth:
“God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” – 1 Corinthians 14:33 (KJV)
If you’re constantly confused, check the voices you’re allowing into your life. Are they rooted in God’s truth? Or are they leading you away from Him?
God Wants to Speak to You Directly
God doesn’t want you to depend on others to hear from Him. He wants a personal relationship with you. He wants to lead you, guide you, speak to your heart, and give you peace. But you can’t hear Him if you’re always running to everyone else for answers.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” – John 10:27 (KJV)
If you belong to God, you can hear His voice. It might not be an audible sound, but it can come as a whisper in your spirit, a scripture that stands out, or a sense of peace when you’re praying. He speaks—are you listening?
Stop Asking People Before Asking God
Let’s talk about a mistake a lot of us make. When something big happens, we go to a friend. We call someone. We post about it. We ask everybody what they think—except God.Let me say this: if you always run to people before you go to God, you’re going to stay stuck. People don’t have the full picture. They may mean well, but they don’t know what God has planned for your life.
“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” – Psalm 118:8 (KJV)
Start going to God first. Pray about it. Sit in silence. Open your Bible. Let Him speak to you before you bring it to anyone else.
God Knows What’s Best For You
Sometimes we think we know what’s best for our lives. Or we think other people have the answers. But truth be told, only God sees the whole picture. He knows your beginning, your middle, and your end. He knows what doors need to open, what people need to leave, and what blessings are around the corner.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
You may not understand everything right now, but if you follow God’s voice, you’ll end up exactly where you need to be.
Make Time to Hear His Voice
If you want to hear God, you have to make space for Him. That means turning off the noise—cutting off distractions, silencing the opinions, and spending quiet time with Him. Start simple. Just talk to Him. Read a few verses. Sit in stillness and ask, “God, what are You saying to me today?”
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
It’s in that quiet place that you’ll hear Him clearly.
Don’t Even Take My Word for It
Now listen—I love y’all, and I’m always going to speak what God puts in my heart. But I’m not your Savior. I’m not your source. God is. So don’t even take my word over His. Always go back to your Bible. Always pray about what you hear. Always check with God first.
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” – Psalm 1:2 (KJV)
That relationship with Him is what matters most.
