My question to this all is isn’t it clear that America is already suffering??

Hi everyone,

I’ve been reading about President Trump’s recent remarks regarding the Supreme Court case over his tariff authority, and honestly… I’m kind of lost. Maybe you can help me understand this better?

So what I do understand (or at least think I do) is this: In my opinion TRUMP is Wrong Tariffs are killing us now!!!

• Trump said that if the Supreme Court upholds a lower court’s ruling—which found many of his emergency tariffs illegal—the U.S. may have to “unwind” trade deals with the EU, Japan, South Korea, and others
• He warned that the country might end up “far poorer” and that “our country is going to suffer so greatly, so greatly” if the case is lost
• He argued these tariffs were key to negotiating favorable trade deals—like a deal with the EU that he says is worth nearly a trillion dollars

But here’s where I’m confused:

1. Why would the legality of these tariffs have anything to do with existing trade deals? Aren’t those separate agreements? Does a court ruling against tariffs really mean those deals vanish?
2. Trump makes it sound like all the deals are already in place—but if tariffs were the leverage to get them, could those deals actually fall apart if the tariffs are invalidated?
3. He warns of becoming “far poorer”, but what kind of timeline is he talking about? Immediate fallout? Long-term? And is this dramatic language just political hyperbole or based on real economic scenarios?

I’d appreciate if anyone can help clarify:

• What’s actually at stake if the Supreme Court rules against Trump’s tariffs?
• Would those trade deals really fall apart, and why?
• Is there a realistic economic risk behind his statements—or is he just using dramatic language to rally support?
