I have a serious question: Are Black people really getting the same opportunities for jobs as White people? Lately, I’ve been wondering because it seems like qualified Black applicants are still having a harder time getting hired. I even feel uncomfortable answering the race question on applications. I know they say it’s for demographic purposes, but part of me worries that checking “Black” could somehow hurt my chances. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I know I’m not the only person who has wondered about this. Have any of you experienced this? Do you think racial discrimination in hiring is still a problem today?
