I have to stop and ask the question out loud: are our politicians really okay with what’s happening right now? Because honestly, the way things are unfolding around Trump, Epstein, and the constant circus of shenanigans, it doesn’t look like anyone in power is actually taking responsibility.
Every time I scroll through the news or social media, I see a higher rate of shootings. It’s not even shocking anymore, and that’s the scary part. These aren’t random; they’re connected to the mess we’re living in. People are angry. People are divided. People are lashing out. And whether folks want to admit it or not, a lot of this comes back to the political culture Trump has fueled. He’s not the only cause, but he has undeniably poured gasoline on the fire.
Let me be clear—I am not a Democrat. I am not a Republican either. I sit somewhere in the middle, what I’d call a “free of the world” type of person. I don’t like being boxed in by labels. But even from this middle ground, I can see plain as day that our two parties are tearing each other apart. They are more interested in pointing fingers, scoring political points, and protecting their tribes than protecting the American people.
Take what just happened with Charlie Kirk’s shooting. Now, I don’t agree with everything Kirk stands for, but seeing him shot while giving a speech shook me. It wasn’t just about him—it was about the climate we’re in. It was a reminder that things are spiraling so far out of control that public figures are now openly being targeted. And the most disturbing part? This isn’t surprising anymore. We’ve gotten used to this chaos like it’s normal.
If we’re being brutally honest, a lot of this comes from how hated Trump is. He’s made himself a lightning rod. People hate him so much, and by extension, they hate the Republican Party so much, that the anger is boiling over into violence. Do I agree with the violence? Absolutely not. But do I understand why some people feel that level of rage? Sadly, yes. The man has divided the country in ways we may never recover from.
Here’s where I land on all this: we can’t fix anything unless we get back to the roots. And by roots, I mean God. I know not everyone wants to hear that, but it’s the truth. We cannot do this alone. We cannot legislate our way out of hate. We cannot argue our way back into peace. God has to be the center of everything again, or this country is going to collapse under its own weight.
I also see what’s happening as part of something bigger. All this violence, this constant bloodshed, it feels like one of the plagues the Bible warns us about. A plague of chaos, of anger, of blind violence sweeping across the land because we as a people have turned away from God. And as hard as it is to say, maybe this is God’s way of waking us up, calling us to repent and come back to Him.
Now, beyond the spiritual, let’s talk practical. Gun laws. How is it possible that after everything we’ve seen—after Trump himself was nearly assassinated—that nobody in leadership has stood up and said, “Okay, enough is enough, we need stronger gun laws”? It blows my mind. These politicians act like it’s business as usual, but they’re targets too! Do they really think they’re safe? Do they really think all of this violence will just magically skip over them?
Trump, of all people, should have been the first to wake up after that assassination attempt and push for change. But instead, he’s doubling down on the same rhetoric. The same fear. The same division. And his followers are eating it up, while the rest of the country crumbles under the weight of all this madness.
I think about everyday people like us. We don’t have bodyguards. We don’t have armored cars. We can’t hide behind secret service agents. When gun violence touches us, we don’t get to bounce back on the campaign trail two weeks later. We bury our loved ones. We live with trauma. And yet, the politicians who are supposed to represent us don’t see this as a priority. That tells me they’re either blind, willfully ignorant, or just don’t care.
So where do we go from here? First, we stop pretending this is normal. It’s not. Shootings shouldn’t be background noise in America. Second, we hold our leaders accountable. Stop voting for people who are all talk and no action. Third, we come together as a community. We start treating one another with love and kindness again. That’s the only way out.
I know some people will roll their eyes when I say this, but I believe the only true fix is turning back to God. If we keep trying to solve this on our own, we’ll keep failing. History has already shown us that. God is calling us, loud and clear, to check ourselves, repent, and put Him back in the center. Until we do, we’re going to keep living in this plague of violence and division.
I don’t have all the answers, but I know this: we can’t keep going like this. Politicians may act like they’re fine with the chaos, but we the people are the ones paying the price. And it’s time we demand better—from them, from ourselves, and from each othe
