You know, I sit back sometimes and I just shake my head. I truly cannot wrap my mind around how some peopleโgrown adults with the ability to think and reasonโcan still look at Donald Trump and say with their whole chest, โThatโs a good man.โ Really? A good man? After everything weโve seen, after everything he has said and done, people are still lining up behind him like heโs some kind of savior. It baffles me, it infuriates me, and honestly, it scares me. Because at what point do we as a country stop excusing cruelty, stop normalizing lies, and stop pretending like this man is anything other than what he has always shown us he is?
Letโs not get it twistedโTrump has been consistently mean-spirited, divisive, and self-absorbed from the very beginning. Heโs not hiding it. He flaunts it. He basks in it. And somehow, people eat it up like itโs candy. He mocks people with disabilities, he calls women names, he thrives on insults, and his idea of leadership is tearing down anyone who doesnโt bow down to him. Thatโs not strength. Thatโs not boldness. Thatโs just mean. Pure and simple. And I donโt know how many times someone has to show you who they are before you believe them.
What gets me even more is the way his supporters twist themselves into knots trying to justify his behavior. โOh, he tells it like it is.โ Noโhe doesnโt tell it like it is. He tells it like he wants it to be, regardless of whether itโs true, and people just accept it. โHeโs fighting for us.โ Fighting for who? Heโs fighting for himself, for his own ego, for his own pockets, for his own power. He doesnโt care about the everyday person trying to put food on the table or keep the lights on. If youโre not useful to him, youโre disposable. And if you dare to stand up to him, youโre instantly labeled an enemy. Thatโs not leadershipโthatโs a dictatorโs mindset.
And letโs talk about decency for a second. Since when did we stop caring about whether someone is decent, kind, respectful? People will say, โWell, weโre not voting for a pastor.โ True, but does that mean we just throw morality out the window? Does it mean we celebrate rudeness, dishonesty, and bullying as long as the person is on โour sideโ? Because thatโs exactly whatโs happening. People are willing to overlook blatant cruelty just because they like the idea of someone being โtough.โ But let me tell you something: meanness is not toughness. Hurting people does not make you strong.
Every time I think about Trump, I think about the trail of division heโs left behind. Families torn apart because some folks idolize him while others canโt stand him. Friendships ruined. Whole communities split right down the middle. And for what? For a man who doesnโt even know your name, who wouldnโt cross the street to help you if you were in need, but who gladly takes your loyalty, your money, and your dignity just to keep his power. Thatโs the sad part. People give him so much, and he gives nothing back but more anger and more chaos.
And then thereโs the lying. Oh, the lying! He lies like itโs his second language. He lies when he doesnโt even have to lie. Itโs like breathing for him. And still, people shrug and say, โWell, all politicians lie.โ Sure, but not like this. Not with this kind of shamelessness. Not with this kind of disregard for reality. At some point, the constant lying isnโt just politicsโitโs manipulation. Itโs gaslighting on a national scale.
I think what frustrates me most is how blind people choose to be. The evidence is all there. The words are all recorded. The behavior is all documented. Weโve seen it with our own eyes and heard it with our own ears. Yet people act like itโs invisible, like if they just squint hard enough, they can make him into a good man. No. You donโt get to rewrite reality. You donโt get to pretend that cruelty is kindness or that corruption is leadership.
So, Iโll say this as plain as possible: Donald Trump has shown us exactly who he isโa mean-spirited man who thrives on division, who elevates himself by tearing others down, and who doesnโt care who he hurts in the process. And if after all of this, someone still wants to call him a โgood person,โ then maybe the problem isnโt just Trump. Maybe the problem is that too many people have gotten comfortable excusing bad behavior because it serves their agenda.
Well, not me. I refuse to call wrong right. I refuse to clap for cruelty. And I refuse to sit here quietly while people try to convince me that a man who consistently shows us his worst self is somehow worthy of praise. Enough is enough. Trump is not a good man, and itโs high time more people had the courage to admit it.
