Hi everyone,

My name is Cynthia, and I felt led to share whatโ€™s been sitting heavy on my heart. I never thought I would see the day when it feels like weโ€™re right back where we started with racism. For a long time, I truly believed we were making progress, moving slowly but surely toward a future where every personโ€”regardless of colorโ€”could feel safe, respected, and valued. Yet lately, watching the news, scrolling through social media, and even just listening to conversations around me, it feels like weโ€™ve been pulled backwards.

Iโ€™m not saying racism was ever fully gone. Deep down, I always knew it was still there, but the way itโ€™s showing up now feels louder and more open than before. Itโ€™s as if the hate has been given permission to stand up and speak again. Policies, rhetoric, and the way people are treating one another on and offline all seem to echo a darker time in our history. It breaks my heart to see this.

What weighs on me most is the spiritual toll this takes. When you witness injustice over and over, when you see people dismissed or silenced, it can chip away at your hope. It can make you angry, bitter, and exhausted. And yet, even in this moment, Iโ€™m reminded of Godโ€™s word. โ€œLove your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.โ€ Thatโ€™s not an easy command, but itโ€™s a lifeline. Itโ€™s the reminder that as Christians, our response has to be different from the worldโ€™s.

Every single day, I have to consciously remind myself of that. When the comments online make me want to scream, when policies hurt people I care about, when someone says something cruel in publicโ€”I pray. I pray for them, for me, and for this country. Because the truth is, the world is getting darker, and no matter what we do on our own, it will always feel like thereโ€™s something waiting to tear us down.

Lately, Iโ€™ve also noticed how people with power on big platforms seem to be working overtime to control whatโ€™s said and whatโ€™s shared. Certain voices, especially those calling out injustice, are being muted or twisted. Itโ€™s a wake-up call for all of us. We cannot put our trust in platforms, politicians, or celebrities. We canโ€™t depend on โ€œmega peopleโ€ to save us. Our only real safety, our only true hope, is in God.

This is a season for reflection, prayer, and courage. None of us knows how much time we have left, and thatโ€™s exactly why we must stand for whatโ€™s right while we still can. My prayer is that we will start to see change soonโ€”not just in policies but in hearts. Because if hearts donโ€™t change, nothing else will.

Stay strong, stay prayerful, and remember: even in the darkness, God is still God.

โ€“ Cynthia

Yes, unfortunately racism has gotten really bad and in America a lot of people are feeling it right now. Itโ€™s sad because it seemed like we went way way back so many years to the same type of cycle that weโ€™re dealing with today. It was just really sad to see how people are got. So much hate in their hearts
