Man, I’ve been watching the news and seeing what folks in Alabama are going through—people who voted Republican, people who stood on that MAGA platform, now turning around saying their bills are breaking them. Six hundred dollars for an electric bill? Seven hundred? That’s not “America first,” that’s “America last.” I’m not here to bash anyone’s political beliefs, but we can’t ignore what’s right in front of our faces. The cost of living is out of control, and no one in Washington—red or blue—is fixing it.

What’s worse is that we’ve been told this was coming. Many of us who pay attention to prophecy and spiritual warnings already knew that the government can’t save us. The signs were there—money would lose its value, and people would be paying out the nose just to survive. You can call it biblical prophecy or just plain reality, but it’s unfolding right now, and it’s ugly.

Everywhere I turn, I hear families saying the same thing: “We can’t afford our lights, our gas, our groceries.” It’s sad that a man or woman can work a full-time job, maybe even two, and still have to decide between feeding their kids or paying the utility company. How is that freedom? How is that the American dream? The system is collapsing in slow motion, and the people at the top just keep saying, “Be patient, things are getting better.” No, they’re not.

Let’s be honest—politicians have been lying to us for decades. They stand on stages promising relief, tax cuts, affordable living, and all that. Then they get elected and watch from their air-conditioned offices while we sweat it out at home, praying our lights don’t get cut off. This isn’t a left or right issue—it’s a human issue. People are struggling to stay alive while the rich keep getting richer.

I’m sick of hearing folks say, “Just budget better.” How do you budget when the price of everything keeps jumping like a rocket? How do you plan for $600 light bills when your paycheck hasn’t moved in years? How do you save money when rent, gas, and food eat it all up before you even touch your wallet? We’re not living anymore; we’re surviving—and barely at that.

What’s worse, this winter is shaping up to be brutal. Think about it—how are people supposed to heat their homes when they can’t even afford to keep the lights on? Some families will literally be sitting in the dark during the holidays, trying to keep their kids warm. That’s not supposed to happen in America, yet here we are.

It’s crazy how people used to mock “doomsday talk,” saying folks were paranoid or overreacting. But now, look around. It’s not a conspiracy—it’s happening. The economy is choking the middle and lower classes. Wages don’t match inflation, and essential needs—water, food, energy—are becoming luxuries. This is exactly what was warned about: a time when money would mean less, when survival would depend more on faith than finances.

I think about how many of us trusted the system for too long. We thought our votes would fix everything, that our leaders cared, that the government could pull us through tough times. But what if the truth is that we were supposed to wake up and realize the system was never meant to sustain everyone—only a select few?

So, as we head into the holidays, I just want to say this: it’s time to get real. Stop putting your faith in politicians or false promises. They’ll tell you what you want to hear while your bills double. It’s time to look to God, community, and self-reliance, because that’s where the true help will come from. The government’s not coming to save anyone—they can’t even save themselves.

Maybe this is the shake-up we needed. Maybe this is what it takes for people to finally see that the dollar isn’t our lifeline—faith is. But until folks wake up and start preparing, these $700 bills are going to keep coming, and we’ll keep wondering how we let it get this bad.
