Thereโs something powerful that happens when you sit still and truly listen to God. Recently, as I was talking with the Lord, He revealed something to me deep in my spirit โ something that gave new meaning to what Jesus said about faith as small as a mustard seed.
In Matthew 17:20, Jesus tells His disciples, โIf you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, โMove from here to there,โ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.โ For years, I heard that scripture and believed it meant having enough faith to change a physical situation. But the Lord showed me something deeper.
He revealed that when Jesus spoke about moving mountains, He wasnโt just referring to the ones standing tall in the natural world. The โmountainโ can be anything in your life that feels too heavy to move โ the pain, the sickness, the heartbreak, the financial burden, the spiritual warfare, or even the fear that keeps you from trusting Him completely.
God made it clear that belief itself is a form of power. Your belief is your faith. And your faith is your power. Because when we pray and ask God for something that we know we canโt do on our own, weโre not asking from the flesh โ weโre asking from the Spirit. Thatโs when miracles happen.
The Lord reminded me that anyone can use a bulldozer to push down a physical mountain. That doesnโt take faith โ it just takes human strength and machinery. But when youโre facing a mountain that canโt be seen โ a mountain of depression, fear, or sickness โ thereโs no bulldozer big enough to handle that. Those are the moments when faith must rise up.
God said thatโs why some things move in our lives instantly and some things take time. When you already have the power in your hands โ when itโs something you can do yourself โ He lets you act. But when itโs something beyond your reach, thatโs when the Spirit steps in. Thatโs when your mustard seed faith becomes a force that moves mountains.
The Spirit of God living inside of us is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11). Thatโs why when a doctor says youโre dying, faith can rise up and declare, โI shall live and not die, and declare the works of the Lordโ (Psalm 118:17). Thatโs the kind of mountain-moving faith that Jesus was talking about โ the faith that speaks directly from the Spirit, not from fear.
When we believe that God can move what man cannot, we enter into a realm of spiritual authority. We stop begging for things to happen and start speaking to the mountain, knowing that it has no choice but to obey the Spirit within us.
Faith doesnโt mean we ignore reality โ it means we believe in a greater one. And when that faith begins to speak, the natural world has to align with the supernatural. Thatโs what it means to walk by faith and not by sight.
So if youโre facing something today that feels impossible, remember: you donโt need a mountain-sized faith to move a mustard seed problem. You need a mustard seed faith to move a mountain-sized problem. God never asked us to do the impossible โ He asked us to believe that He can.
Keep praying, keep believing, and keep speaking from your spirit. Because the power to move the mountain is already inside of you.
