Let me tell y’all something, because this has been sitting on my chest all morning. The way Marjorie Taylor Greene came out talking about how Trump was “gaslighting the American people,” like she cracked some big historical code, is absolutely wild to me. 😑 Girl, WE BEEN KNEW. This ain’t new information. It’s the timing that got folks squinting their eyes like, “Hold up now… what’s really going on here?”
I mean seriously she been riding with Trump for YEARS. Through every scandal, every meltdown, every conspiracy theory, every press conference where he couldn’t even stick to one topic. She was right there behind him, cosigning EVERYTHING like it was gospel. And now suddenly she’s standing up like she found her backbone at the bottom of a cereal box? Please. 😂
Let’s call this what it is: career preservation.
Because now that there’s a clear rift between her and Trump, she wants to act like she’s stepping into some new era of bold honesty and moral clarity. Girl, no. What’s happening is she’s reading the room and the room is telling her Trump’s flame is burning out, and the consequences he’s facing might finally stick this time. When that man’s political chapter ends, she knows she still gotta live in Washington. That’s why she’s suddenly “speaking truth.”
People online already saying it, and honestly? They’re right. This ain’t about integrity. This is about survival. She ain’t trying to go down with the ship; she’s trying to hop onto the nearest lifeboat with her hair still dry.
Because once Trump’s situation is over whether that’s legally, politically, or just through pure exhaustion from folks being tired of him Marjorie still wants a career after the dust settles. And the only way to secure that is by distancing herself just enough to say, “See? I told y’all! I warned everybody!” even though she spent years boosting the very same behavior she’s now calling out. 🙄
It reminds me of when somebody stays loyal to a toxic friend the whole time, then suddenly acts shocked when everyone else finally says, “We’re done with them.” Now they wanna switch sides like they been enlightened the whole time. Nope. You don’t get that luxury.
So now she’s out here making statements, throwing shade, trying to reposition herself as if the rest of us forgot who she was for the last several years. Trust me WE REMEMBER. And voters remember too. And the truth is, she’s not doing this because she cares about America finally seeing the light. She’s doing it because she’s terrified of being irrelevant.
Honestly, I’d respect her more if she just admitted it: “I’m trying to save my job.” Boom. Simple. But instead, we get this whole dramatic performance like she’s some heroic whistleblower. Girl, goodbye. 😤
