Iโ€™m honestly confused why people are still going back and forth about whether Amazon is some โ€œpremiumโ€ place to shop while looking down on Temu like itโ€™s beneath them. Letโ€™s just say the quiet part out loud, a huge chunk of whatโ€™s on Amazon is coming from the same manufacturers youโ€™ll find on Temu. The only real difference? The price tag.

You can scroll Amazon and see an item for $25, then hop over to Temu and find what looks like the exact same thing for $5โ€“$8. Same photos, same descriptions, sometimes even the same packaging. So what exactly are people paying for? Faster shipping? A brand name that isnโ€™t even a real brand half the time? It just doesnโ€™t add up.

And hereโ€™s the part that really gets me, the shaming. People act like shopping on Temu means youโ€™re buying โ€œcheap junk,โ€ but letโ€™s be honest: a lot of that same โ€œjunkโ€ is being resold on Amazon with a markup. The difference is perception. When it comes from Amazon, people feel like itโ€™s more legit. But in reality, youโ€™re often paying triple for the same risk in quality.

At least with Temu, you know what youโ€™re getting into. Youโ€™re paying low prices, and you understand the trade-off might be quality or durability. Thereโ€™s transparency in that. But with Amazon, some sellers dress things up with polished listings, fake reviews, and inflated pricing, and thatโ€™s where it starts to feel deceptive.

Now donโ€™t get me wrong….. Amazon still has advantages. Faster shipping, easier returns, and more reliable customer service can matter. But that doesnโ€™t justify acting like itโ€™s on a completely different level when it comes to product sourcing. Itโ€™s not.

At the end of the day, people should shop where it makes sense for them without judgment. If someone wants to save money and go straight to the source, why is that a problem? Paying more doesnโ€™t always mean getting better, sometimes it just means paying more.

I completely agree with what youโ€™re saying because people really do pick and choose when they want to act โ€œbrand conscious.โ€ The truth is, a lot of folks are paying for the feeling of shopping somewhere โ€œbetter,โ€ not the actual quality of the product. And like you said, if itโ€™s coming from the same source anyway, whatโ€™s the real difference besides the markup?

What gets me is the judgment behind it. People love to clown Temu shoppers, but wonโ€™t question why theyโ€™re spending three times more for something that may not even last. At least with Temu, you go in knowing itโ€™s a gamble and youโ€™re okay with that because the price matches the risk. That honesty matters.

Amazon has definitely built a reputation over time, so people trust it more automatically. But that trust is starting to feel a little misplaced when you really look at whatโ€™s being sold and whoโ€™s selling it. A lot of third-party sellers are doing the exact same thingโ€”just rebranding and reselling. At the end of the day, smart shopping is about awareness, not pride. Saving money shouldnโ€™t be embarrassing.
