Honestly, I was dying laughing when I watched Jashaun’s remodel video and he started talking about how the person who stayed in the room before him could have been digging in their ears, nose, or doing who knows what in that room. The funny part is that as crazy as it sounded, a lot of us who have lived in dorms, college housing, or shared spaces know exactly what he was talking about.
College life is not always the glamorous experience people show on social media. Sometimes you’re moving into a room that has had several different people living in it before you. You don’t know how clean they were, how they lived, or what habits they had. That’s why many students end up cleaning everything from top to bottom before they even unpack their belongings.
What made the video so entertaining was how relatable it felt. Jashaun wasn’t just remodeling a room; he was talking about a reality that many college students experience. Living on campus comes with plenty of ups and downs. You gain independence, meet new people, and create memories, but you also deal with shared bathrooms, questionable roommates, old furniture, and spaces that sometimes need a serious makeover.
I personally went through similar situations during my college years, so hearing him joke about it brought back memories. Sometimes all you can do is laugh because if you don’t, you’ll probably spend the entire semester wondering what happened in that room before you moved in.
Overall, I enjoyed the remodel video because it mixed humor with a real-life experience that many students can understand. It wasn’t just about fixing up a room—it was about making a space feel like your own. Did anyone else watch the video? What did you think about it?
