Vlogs | Do People Actually Watch Them Anymore?

I have a serious question. Do people actually watch vlogs anymore? Because it seems like things have been changing on YouTube, and because YouTube doesn’t promote a lot of channels, are people really looking at vlogs anymore?

It’s just a question. I’m not really sure. I’m just seeing a lot of small YouTubers who’ve had their channels up for quite some time. I know one young lady who has had a channel since 2014, and she’s only got 900 and some followers. It’s 2026. So, you do the math.

That really makes me wonder what is going on with YouTube these days. Is it that people don’t care about vlogs anymore? Is it that YouTube only pushes certain creators? Or is it that there are just so many people making content now that it’s almost impossible for smaller creators to get noticed?

Back in the day, it felt like people could start a channel, be themselves, vlog about their life, and slowly build an audience. Now it feels like everything has to be perfect. You need thumbnails, editing, shorts, trends, algorithms, and a hundred other things just to get people to see your content.

Meanwhile, there are creators who have been uploading for years and still haven’t reached 1,000 subscribers. That’s not because they aren’t trying. Some of them have been consistent for over a decade.

So I really want to know: are people actually watching vlogs anymore, or has YouTube changed so much that smaller creators are getting buried while bigger channels continue to dominate everything?

Because from what I’m seeing, something definitely feels different.
