There is something that has been puzzling me for quite some time. Somebody needs to tell me who’s in charge of Keyshia Cole’s wardrobe because it seems like every time she’s getting on stage latelyโ€”and I’m just speaking about the last few yearsโ€”her outfits have been getting more and more hideous.

Now let me be clear. I respect Keyshia Cole as an artist. She’s one of the greatest R&B voices of her generation, and this isn’t about tearing her down. This is simply my opinion as someone who’s watched her career for years.

I just don’t understand who’s making these wardrobe decisions. Keyshia is a beautiful woman, but some of the outfits they’re putting her in just don’t seem to fit where she is in her life right now. I know people’s style changes over time, and everybody has the right to wear whatever they want. I’m not saying she has to dress a certain way. I’m just saying I honestly think she would look absolutely stunning in something more elegant.

I’d love to see her in beautiful evening gowns, flowing dresses, or even outfits with a soft Caribbean-inspired vibe. Something classy, feminine, and timeless that really highlights her beauty instead of trying so hard to be edgy.

What I don’t understand is why it seems like so many artists today feel like they have to come out half-naked just to perform. Respectfully, I’m saying this because I genuinely don’t get it. You don’t have to show everything to be beautiful, and you definitely don’t have to wear something that takes away from your natural elegance.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about attacking Keyshia Cole. It’s about wondering who’s styling her and why these are the looks they’re choosing. In my opinion, she deserves better because I truly believe she could be one of the most elegant women on stage if they went in a different direction with her fashion.

I see where youโ€™re coming from, but I also think artists should be able to express themselves however they want. If Keyshia likes the outfits sheโ€™s wearing, then thatโ€™s ultimately her decision. Fashion is subjective, and what one person thinks looks amazing, another person may not like. I may not love every outfit either, but I respect her right to choose her own style.

I actually agree with this. Keyshia Cole has always been naturally beautiful, so I donโ€™t think she needs outfits that try so hard to get attention. Sometimes less is more. I would love to see her in elegant gowns or classy stage outfits that let her voice be the center of attention instead of what sheโ€™s wearing. Thatโ€™s just my opinion, though.
