I wanted to share my experience with this weed barrier because I wish someone had told me before I spent my money on it.
I ordered this weed barrier from Amazon because I’m working on my yard and garden, and I wanted something that would actually help keep the weeds from coming back. When I saw it online, I honestly thought it was going to be the thicker cloth-style landscape fabric. That’s the type I’ve always preferred because it’s usually stronger, easier to work with, and lasts a lot longer.

Well, when it arrived, I quickly realized it wasn’t cloth at all. It was more like a thin plastic material. I tried to give it a chance because I had already started my project, but the more I worked with it, the more frustrated I became. Every time I cut it to fit around my plants or landscaping, the edges started shredding apart. Instead of making my project easier, it made it feel like I was fighting with the material the whole time.
The biggest disappointment is that even after taking the time to pull up the grass and weeds before putting the barrier down, I’m still seeing weeds come back. That’s the whole reason I bought a weed barrier in the first place. If I’m spending my time and money installing one, I expect it to actually do its job.
I’m not saying everyone will have the same experience, but if you’re shopping for a weed barrier, make sure you pay close attention to what it’s made of before you buy it. If you’re expecting a heavy-duty cloth material like I was, you may end up disappointed if you receive this thinner plastic version instead.
For me, I’d much rather spend a little more money on a quality cloth weed barrier than waste time installing something that starts falling apart and doesn’t perform the way I expected. Sometimes trying to save a few dollars ends up costing you more in the long run because you have to do the job all over again.
I just wanted to put this out there for anyone thinking about buying this product. Read the description carefully, check the material, and don’t rely only on the pictures. Hopefully my experience can save someone else the frustration I went through.
