The Power of Belief: Trusting God When You Canโt See the Way
Faith isnโt just a word we throw around in church. Itโs not just a feeling we have on a good day. Faith is the foundation of our entire walk with God. In Hebrews 11:1, the Bible tells us:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
That means even when we canโt see the outcome, even when we donโt feel it or understand it โ we believe. Faith is choosing to trust that God is working it out behind the scenes, even if the scene in front of us looks broken.
Too often, we ask God for things in prayer and wonder why the answer hasnโt come. We say, โGod, You said if I ask, it will be given.โ And thatโs true โ Scripture makes that promise clear. Jesus said in John 14:13, โAnd whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.โ But hereโs where many of us miss it: we ask, but we donโt truly believe. Faith isnโt just asking. Itโs believing that what God said is already done. Itโs standing firm when everything around you says give up. Itโs keeping your heart set on God’s truth when your eyes canโt see the answer.
Many of us fail to see Godโs power move in our situation because deep down, we donโt believe He will move. We speak words of faith with our mouths, but our hearts are heavy with doubt. We say โGod will make a way,โ but we panic the moment trouble shows up. Faith says, “I believe in the way, even when I donโt see the road.”
Sometimes the issue isnโt that God isnโt answering โ itโs that Heโs answering in a way we donโt expect. You may be praying for a relationship, a job, a breakthrough, or healing. But if what you’re asking for doesnโt align with Godโs perfect will for your life, then in His love, He may say โNot that.โ That doesnโt mean Heโs denying you. It means Heโs redirecting you toward something better.
Remember this: what you want is not always what you need. And God, as your Father, knows the difference. The truth is, Godโs will is always good, even when it doesnโt feel good in the moment. If you want the world, the enemy will offer it fast โ fame, money, shortcuts, pleasures. But those gifts come with a price. Theyโre temporary, and they rob you of true peace. But when you choose God, when you accept His gift, you receive something eternal, something real, something that grows stronger over time.
His Word says in James 1:17, โEvery good gift and every perfect gift is from above.โ God doesnโt give broken blessings. He doesnโt give you something that will destroy you. He gives what is good โ for your soul, your growth, and your purpose.
So today, go back to the basics of faith. Go back to Hebrews 11:1. Remind yourself that faith is believing before you see. Itโs trusting God not because everything is perfect, but because He is perfect. Whatever youโre waiting on today โ donโt stop believing. Donโt stop praying. Donโt stop trusting. If God said it, He meant it. Stand on His promise and let your belief unlock the power of heaven in your life. Because when you believe what God says โ thatโs when you truly begin to see what God can do.
