The enemy plants the seed, but it is often we—the people—who give that seed the soil it needs to grow. This is why we must be extremely careful about what we allow to take place in our lives. The Word of God makes it clear:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10, NIV). The enemy’s agenda is plain, but so is God’s promise.

The reality is that we do not have to be victims of the enemy’s schemes. The battle we face is not against flesh and blood—it’s not a physical war. It is a spiritual battle, one that requires discernment, self-control, and the unwavering power of God’s Spirit. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us:

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Too often, we focus on what people have done to us, but the truth is deeper—there’s a spiritual strategy at work, trying to pull us out of God’s will and purpose. The seed of destruction might come as temptation, doubt, bitterness, or fear. But a seed will not grow unless it’s given attention, water, and care.

Here’s the powerful truth: You have the authority in Christ to stop the seed before it becomes a stronghold. Sometimes all it takes is one small but powerful word to shut down the enemy’s plan—“No.” No to sin. No to fear. No to the lies. No to the enemy’s manipulation.

When you refuse to give in, you create space for God to do His greatest work in your life. James 4:7 tells us exactly how to win: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

So, be ready for God to move in a mighty way. Stay prayerful. Guard your heart and mind. And when the enemy comes knocking with his false promises, answer boldly with a Spirit-filled “No.” You are not a victim—you are a victor through Christ Jesus.
