In John 5:19–22, Jesus declares that He does nothing on His own but only what He sees His Father doing. He reminds us that the Father and the Son are one, working together in perfect unity, and that all authority to judge and give life has been entrusted to Him. These verses teach us something essential: our faith cannot be selective. We cannot choose only the parts of God’s truth that feel comfortable or convenient; we must believe in the entirety of who He is.

That means believing in the immaculate conception, the miraculous birth of Christ, the power of the Father, and the authority of the Son. It means believing in the healings Jesus performed, in the raising of the dead, and in the eternal truth that He existed with the Father even before His time on earth. Jesus Himself was the miracle, and through Him, miracles continue to manifest.

Too often, people try to embrace God in pieces—accepting His love but questioning His power, or acknowledging His presence but denying His authority. But faith requires wholeness. To truly follow Christ, we must believe in everything: the Father, the Son, the miracles, the cross, the resurrection, and the eternal life He promises.

And let us not forget the power of His name. Scripture tells us that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow. There is no salvation, no healing, no true life apart from Him. We cannot speak of hope, peace, or eternity without acknowledging the name of Jesus.

John 5 reminds us that Jesus is not separate from God’s will but is the very extension of it. If we desire miracles in our lives, if we long for healing, restoration, and eternal life, then we must embrace Him fully—not halfway, not selectively, but in total faith.

Jesus was, and still is, the miracle. And it is only by believing in all that He is that we can experience the fullness of God’s power.
