You all heard that Charlie Kirk is dead, right? I don’t even know where to begin—this is gutting. No matter whose side you’re on—Democrat, Republican, Independent—this kind of violence is beyond unacceptable. Absolutely no one deserves to lose their life over politics, ideology, or beliefs.
I’m a mom. I’m angry. I’m hurting. And I’m livid that this happened at all. I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone. Now there’s a grieving family, a community in shock—all because someone thought they could settle a difference of opinion with violence. I’m appalled at how far we’ve fallen.
When Trump’s January 6th was happening, I thought, “This can’t get worse.” But now I’m watching us destroy ourselves bit by bit. It doesn’t matter what you believe—it only matters that we’re slowly losing our humanity. As Americans, how did we get here?
And let me ask this—where was the security?
You bring in a high-profile public figure like Charlie Kirk—who has a massive following, who stirs controversy, who has polarizing views—and you expect them to speak in safety without adequate protection? That’s beyond negligent—it’s criminal. You expect that in this day and age, you CAN’T just assume an event is “safe.” What’s the plan? Wait until after someone’s dead to think, “Maybe we should’ve had more security”? No. That is unacceptable.
This isn’t about him or them. It’s about us. This is American people—mothers, fathers, kids—losing trust in our own country. We’ve lost touch. We’ve normalized fear and division. We treat speech like violence. We turn disagreement into threats. Enough.
Now Charlie Kirk is gone, and his family is shattered. He won’t walk through a door to go home again. Let that sink in.
I am so sick of this spiral. I don’t care how much political noise you made about him. Violence is always the wrong answer. Period. We have to be better. We must be better—for ourselves, for our kids—for each other.
So here’s my question to all of you: What actually needs to change to stop this madness? Are we ever going to have accountability when security is so lax? Do we even want to think about fixing this, or are we just going to keep letting hate win?
I’m done being silent.
