So I was just scrolling earlier and saw yet another video of Trump getting booed while out having dinner. And honestly, I had to stop and think about it for a second. Like, how do you get to a place in life where you’ve already been president, you’ve already been in one of the most powerful positions in the world, and yet when you step out in public half the people in your own country can’t stand you? I don’t care how tough someone pretends to be, that has to sting deep down inside.
What gets me is that he still moves around like nothing’s wrong, like he’s the hero in his own story, while so many Americans clearly feel the complete opposite. I can’t wrap my mind around it. Imagine being out of office and knowing that such a huge percentage of the country views you with so much anger, disappointment, or even straight-up hatred. That can’t feel normal.
But here’s the bigger picture that bothers me: America feels like it’s on the edge right now. It’s not even just about Trump anymore—it’s about how divided we’ve become as people. Every little thing feels like it’s “us versus them.” Politics is supposed to be about serving the people, finding solutions, and leading with integrity. But what we’re watching play out is more like one side trying to dominate and silence the other. And the scary part is that we’re starting to get comfortable with that level of division. That’s not normal, and it’s definitely not healthy for a country that’s supposed to pride itself on being a democracy.
When I see Trump out here still talking about himself, what he’s done, or what he plans to do, it makes me frustrated because leadership is not about you. It’s about the people you’re supposed to serve. And right now, I don’t see a lot of true leadership happening in this country from either side. I see a lot of fighting, a lot of name-calling, and a lot of finger-pointing. Meanwhile, regular people like you and me are the ones living in the middle of this storm, trying to figure out how to move forward.
I’ll be honest with y’all—this whole situation makes me sad. It makes me sad that we’ve gotten so far off track that people almost expect politics to be a circus instead of expecting it to be serious business. And it makes me even sadder that many of us put more faith in politicians than we do in God. I truly believe the only way America gets back on its feet is if we put Him first again. Because let’s be real—no politician, no president, no party is going to heal this country the way the Lord can.
So I guess my question is this: do you think Trump is even aware of how much people dislike him, or do you think he just doesn’t care? And more importantly, how do we as Americans start to come together again when it feels like the gap is only getting wider?
I really want to hear what you all think because this feels like one of those moments in history where we either wake up or lose ourselves completely.
