I just need to let this out because I am sitting here stressed and frustrated watching the news again. It feels like every single time something happens, Trump cannot help but twist it, lie about it, or throw some wild blame in a direction that makes no sense. And the worst part is, people just eat it up like heโ€™s handing out candy on Halloween. I donโ€™t know how much more of this I can take without screaming. I know that Putin does not believe anything he says๐Ÿคฃ

The story about Tyler Robinson really set me off. Hereโ€™s the truth: the kid was a MAGA supporter. Itโ€™s right there in black and white. He literally dressed up as Trump for Halloween. Pictures exist. His social media shows it. Itโ€™s not something anyone had to dig very deep for. But what does Trump do? He goes on and makes it sound like some โ€œtrans crazed person with a gun,โ€ trying to stir fear, rile up people who already donโ€™t like the LGBTQ community, and shift the entire narrative away from the obvious. And I sit here thinkingโ€”why? Why lie when the facts are so clear? Why lie when it doesnโ€™t even help his cause?

This is what drives me crazy as a Republican. I can admit that Iโ€™ve supported conservative values my whole life. I believe in small government, fiscal responsibility, strong national defenseโ€”the basics of what the party is supposed to stand for. But Trump? He doesnโ€™t stand for any of that. He just lies. Constantly. About everything. About things that donโ€™t even matter. He lies the way some people breatheโ€”it just comes natural to him. And then when he gets caught, instead of owning up, he doubles down. He acts like the truth is just a suggestion and his version of reality is the only one weโ€™re supposed to believe.

It makes me feel like Iโ€™m going crazy sometimes, because so many people around me refuse to see it. Iโ€™ll say, โ€œHey, but didnโ€™t he just say the opposite of this last week?โ€ or โ€œDidnโ€™t the evidence prove him wrong?โ€ and people look at me like Iโ€™m the one whoโ€™s blind. Like Iโ€™m not loyal because Iโ€™m questioning the lies. But isnโ€™t that exactly what we should be doing as citizensโ€”holding leaders accountable? I thought we were the party of truth and accountability, but instead, people are worshiping this man as if heโ€™s a savior. And for what? He doesnโ€™t care about them. He just cares about himself.

The Tyler Robinson case is just one example, but it speaks volumes. Trump could have easily said, โ€œYes, itโ€™s a tragedy, yes, itโ€™s awful,โ€ and moved on. But no, he had to weaponize it against a community that had nothing to do with it. Thatโ€™s not just lying, thatโ€™s dangerous lying. It fuels hate. It makes people angry at the wrong target. And it creates this nonstop cycle of division that we never seem to crawl out of.

And I donโ€™t say this lightly: itโ€™s exhausting. Truly exhausting. It feels like every single time I turn on the TV, scroll through my phone, or check the news, thereโ€™s another Trump lie. Something about crowd sizes. Something about indictments. Something about the economy. Something about an opponent. Something about some celebrity. Itโ€™s endless. He lies about the big things, the little things, and everything in between. And after a while, you just sit there thinkingโ€”does he even know what the truth is anymore? Or does he just say whatever pops into his head and expect the rest of us to follow like sheep?

I guess what Iโ€™m really venting about is the loneliness of it. Iโ€™m a Republican, but I canโ€™t ignore what I see. I canโ€™t pretend that his lies are okay just because I happen to vote red most of the time. I feel like Iโ€™m stuck in the middle, surrounded by people who either blindly defend him or absolutely hate him, and Iโ€™m just here waving my hands saying, โ€œHello? Can we talk about the fact that heโ€™s lying again?โ€ And nobody seems to care. Itโ€™s like the whole country has lost the ability to call a lie a lie.

So yeah, Iโ€™m stressed. Iโ€™m drained. And Iโ€™m tired of feeling like Iโ€™m the only one seeing the obvious. Tyler Robinson was a MAGA supporter, not some trans person Trump decided to blame. Thatโ€™s the truth. And if we canโ€™t even start with the truth, then where does that leave us? I donโ€™t know anymore. All I know is I needed to say it out loud, because holding it in is driving me crazy.

Erica, I feel every word of what youโ€™re saying. Itโ€™s like living in an upside-down world where truth doesnโ€™t even matter anymore. What gets me is how casual Trump is about it. Heโ€™ll say something completely outrageous, and before anyone can fact-check, heโ€™s already moved on to the next lie. Itโ€™s exhausting to keep up with, and I honestly think thatโ€™s part of the strategyโ€”overwhelm people with so much nonsense that they donโ€™t even know whatโ€™s real anymore.

Iโ€™m with you on the Tyler Robinson thing. The facts were out there from the beginning, but Trump still spun it into something else to fit his narrative. Thatโ€™s what frustrates me the mostโ€”itโ€™s not just lying, itโ€™s manipulating. He knows exactly what buttons to push with his base, and he doesnโ€™t care how dangerous it gets as long as people rally behind him.

Youโ€™re not alone in seeing it. A lot of Republicans are quietly admitting the same thing, even if they donโ€™t want to say it too loud around their friends or family. Trust me, youโ€™re not crazy for calling it outโ€”youโ€™re just being honest, and thatโ€™s more than I can say for him.
