Highlighting Moment
When God blesses us with a job—whether it is sweeping floors, leading a team, teaching children, or running a company—it is not just “employment.” It is a divine assignment. Too often, we give our best effort in the beginning: polishing our résumé, showing up early, being eager to learn. But over time, that fire can fade. We start to take the blessing for granted, treating the very thing we prayed for as if it’s ordinary.
But in God’s eyes, there are no “small” or “big” jobs. Every opportunity is a gift from Him. Whether you are making sandwiches, caring for patients, designing buildings, or managing finances, it’s all kingdom work when done with excellence and gratitude. God is not measuring the size of the job—He is measuring the faithfulness of the worker.
Reflection
Think back to when you were praying for that position. You were hungry, determined, and hopeful. You asked God to open doors. And He did. Now He asks that you carry that same heart of faith and diligence every day you show up.
The truth is, God expects us to be good stewards of what He gives. Stewardship isn’t just about money—it’s also about how we treat our assignments, our gifts, and our daily responsibilities. When we treat our work with care, we show Him that we value His provision. When we become lazy, careless, or bitter, we are telling Him with our actions that His blessing isn’t worth much to us.
The workplace is more than a paycheck—it’s a platform to display God’s light. People may never step into a church, but they’ll see how you conduct yourself at work. Do you show integrity when no one is watching? Do you treat coworkers with kindness even when it’s hard? Do you give your best even when the task feels small? This is what it means to work “as unto the Lord.”
Your consistency becomes a witness. Your excellence becomes worship. And your attitude becomes an offering.
Biblical Affirmation
Today, I affirm that my work is worship. I will treat my job as a blessing from God and not a burden. I will give my best effort in everything I do, knowing that I work for the Lord and not for man. Every task I complete is an act of faithfulness that honors Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for blessing me with opportunities to work, to serve, and to use the skills You have placed in my hands. Forgive me for the times I have taken these blessings for granted. Help me to remember that no job is small in Your kingdom, and that every responsibility is sacred when I give it back to You. Fill me with diligence, joy, and gratitude, so that I shine in the workplace as a reflection of Your glory. Let my work be worship, my effort be consistent, and my attitude be pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
THEY GOT DIRTY HANDS!!😯
We think handling things ourselves means we’ve won. But every time I tried to fight fire with fire, I ended up smelling like smoke. Every time I tried to prove a point, I ended up losing…
