Let’s get one thing straight: God created this earth. Every piece of land, every ocean, every tree, every cloud in the sky — all of it. The Bible opens with that very truth: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” So if He made it, that means it’s sacred. It’s not ours to ruin, ignore, or pollute just because we think it doesn’t matter. And yet, that’s exactly what’s happening.

I’m not here to throw shade (okay, maybe a little 😅), but I get so frustrated when people — especially those in power — act like climate change is some kind of political argument or overblown theory. No. This is about responsibility. If God handed you something beautiful and said, “Take care of it,” wouldn’t you do your best to keep it clean, thriving, and alive? Because that’s literally what He told us to do.

When presidents, lawmakers, and even regular citizens shrug and say they “don’t believe in climate change,” they’re basically saying, “God’s creation doesn’t matter.” And that’s a bold and dangerous thing to say. You can’t say you love the Creator and disrespect His creation. You can’t say you follow God but ignore the very thing He made for you to live in.

Let’s talk real — when we destroy the earth, we destroy ourselves. God created man from the dust of the ground. So when we pollute that ground, when we poison that air, when we dump garbage in those oceans, we are literally killing what we came from. Every time we choose profit over protection, we’re putting a knife in the back of our own home.

And the wildest part? People act surprised when diseases and cancers keep increasing. What do you expect when you’re breathing in air full of chemicals and living in cities where smog is thicker than the clouds? God didn’t design our lungs to handle poison. He gave us pure air, pure water, pure life — and what did we do? We turned it into a trash heap for greed and convenience.

God didn’t create this planet for us to abuse it — He created it for us to honor Him through it. That’s why we have seasons, rain, light, and fruit. It’s all intentional. Every tree you cut down without care removes oxygen that keeps another person alive. Every piece of plastic you toss into the ocean chokes a fish that was part of a balanced system He designed. Everything is connected.

And it’s time people stop pretending that climate change is “no big deal.” Because when you destroy the environment, you destroy what God blessed us with. The floods, wildfires, heatwaves, and droughts? That’s the earth groaning — crying out under the weight of our neglect.

We keep praying for blessings, but how can God bless us when we keep trashing the blessings we already have? 🌿 If we truly want to honor Him, we need to take care of the ground we walk on, the air we breathe, and the life that surrounds us.

So next time you hear someone say “climate change isn’t real,” ask them this: Do you believe God created the world? Because if they do, then they should believe that it’s worth protecting.

It’s not about politics. It’s about purpose. And our purpose — straight from the Word — is to care for God’s creation like it’s the most precious thing we have. Because it is.
