I gotta get this off my chest because what Newsbreak just did is downright shameful. They threw away their real writers — the same people who built the app’s credibility just to chase this fake AI wave. And now the site looks like a watered-down version of Instagram with zero soul. I’m over it.

I don’t even know where to start with this mess. Newsbreak straight-up kicked out almost every real creator they had, only to turn around and say, “Oh, we’re re-launching with a new program.” Yeah right. That “program” probably never existed in the first place. They just wanted to find a polite way to tell hardworking writers that they’re no longer needed. It’s like they used people to build their empire — had us writing, promoting, uploading, and bringing in traffic — and once the app blew up, they said, “Okay, we’ll take it from here.” And now? Robots are writing the “news.” 😑
It’s wild to me how so many platforms are pulling this same trick. YouTube did it. Reddit did it. Now Newsbreak is jumping on the same sad bandwagon. They all got their “success” from human creativity — real people with stories, emotion, and life experience — and now they’re pretending AI can replace that. How can something that’s never lived a real life, never experienced heartbreak, joy, or truth, tell stories about life? It makes no sense!
You can feel the emptiness in their content now, too. Every headline feels flat, every article sounds the same, and the comments section? Dead. The connection between the reader and the writer — gone. That’s what happens when you remove the human touch. You lose authenticity, and without that, you lose trust.
And don’t even get me started on how Newsbreak started acting like social media. The home page looks more like Facebook and Instagram had a boring baby. Instead of real journalism, they’re pushing random posts, “viral” nonsense, and filler stories that don’t even seem verified anymore. What happened to being a news platform? The word “news” is literally in their name! 🙄
It reminds me of scripture, honestly. The Bible talks about a time when man would become so “wise” that they’d destroy themselves. That’s exactly what’s happening here. People are so obsessed with technology that they’re forgetting the value of real human skill. Newsbreak is a perfect example of how greed and pride can make a company throw away its foundation.
Let’s be real — they didn’t just get rid of people because of “quality control.” They got rid of people because the truth made them uncomfortable. When creators started reporting on things that didn’t fit their nice little agenda, suddenly everyone was “not qualified.” That’s code for “you’re saying too much.”
And that’s what I’ve been calling the Reddit and Newsbreak Vows these platforms vow to love creators until they grow big enough to not need them anymore. Then they betray them. Simple as that. It’s hypocrisy at its finest, and it’s sad to see so many talented writers being pushed aside just because AI is cheaper.
The irony is, they’re trying to save money, but they’re actually losing value. When you take the human voice out of media, you lose what made people care in the first place. Newsbreak might think they’re evolving, but really, they’re devolving into just another soulless app pretending to care about community.
So yeah, Newsbreak sucks and not because it failed to keep up, but because it chose to give up on people. Real ones know what I’m talking about. 👏

Lucy, I couldn’t agree more with what you said you hit every single point dead-on. Newsbreak really fumbled the bag on this one. I used to log in every morning to read stories from real people folks who lived what they were writing about. Now it’s all robotic, cold, and full of fluff that doesn’t even sound human. Half the “articles” don’t make sense, and the rest feel like recycled clickbait from the internet.
What really gets me is how they acted like creators were part of some “big partnership,” then tossed everyone out like trash. I remember when they had community writers who actually cared about the topics from small-town news to real-life experiences. You could feel that energy. Now? It’s like scrolling through a fake feed pretending to be journalism. 😤
You’re right about them being scared of truth-tellers too. The minute people started calling out real-world issues or questioning the platform, they suddenly weren’t “qualified.” That’s the new censorship companies hide behind algorithms and “AI programs” to silence voices they can’t control.
I’m with you all the way Newsbreak turned its back on the people who built it. And that’s the beginning of its downfall. They can let AI run the show all they want, but it’ll never replace genuine human perspective. Keep speaking up, Lucy. You said what a lot of us have been thinking for a long time. 👏🔥
