I’m not even gonna lie… this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is just not hitting the same at all.

Like what are we really watching at this point? Because Season 17 honestly feels less like Housewives and more like a Love & Hip Hop episode. Everything feels forced, overly dramatic, and just… artificial. And I hate to say it like that, but it’s true. Back in the day, the show felt real. The shade was natural, the friendships were messy but authentic, and when something funny happened—you actually laughed. Now it feels like everybody is trying to perform instead of just being themselves.

And let’s be honest, a big part of that missing piece is NeNe Leakes. She brought personality, humor, and that “say what everybody else is thinking” energy. Whether you liked her or not, she carried moments that made the show what it was. Without that, it just feels… flat. And then you’ve got Porsha Williams this season. I’m not even trying to be harsh, but she feels completely different now. It’s like the more fame comes in, the less relatable she becomes.

Everything about her comes off polished and overdone, like we’re watching a version of her instead of the real her. And that’s disappointing because she used to be one of the most entertaining ones on the show. The rest of the cast? I don’t know… it’s just not giving what it’s supposed to give. The conversations feel staged, the drama feels recycled, and the personalities just aren’t connecting like they used to. It’s like the heart of the show is missing.

I used to look forward to new episodes because you knew you were going to get laughs, iconic moments, and real reactions. Now it feels like I’m watching people try to create moments instead of letting them happen naturally. And maybe that’s the problem….. too much production, not enough authenticity.

At this point, I’m honestly over it. I want that old Atlanta energy back. The real friendships, the real shade, the real humor. Not this overproduced, overly polished version that feels like it’s trying too hard to keep up with something it was never supposed to be.Because right now? It just ain’t the same.

I’m right there with you on this. This season just doesn’t feel like Real Housewives of Atlanta anymore. It’s like the soul of the show is missing. Everything feels too polished, too rehearsed, and honestly a little forced. What made the earlier seasons so good was how natural everything felt, the shade, the friendships, even the arguments. Now it’s like everybody is trying to create a moment instead of just letting it happen.

And you’re absolutely right about NeNe Leakes. She brought a level of humor and personality that you just can’t replace. She had that ability to make serious situations funny and keep the energy balanced. Without that, the show feels a lot heavier and, honestly, more boring.

As for Porsha Williams, I hate to say it, but I see what you mean. She used to feel more relatable, more real. Now it feels like we’re watching a version of her that’s been shaped by fame, and it just doesn’t hit the same. At this point, it really feels like the show needs a reset because what we’re getting now just isn’t it anymore.
