Family, let me talk to you real today. If you call yourself a follower of Christ, you can’t halfway do this walk. You can’t put one foot in the Word and keep the other in the world. The Bible makes it clear: to live for Jesus, you must completely die to yourself. When I say “die,” I don’t mean your physical body. I mean that old life of sin, those old habits, that old mindset—it’s got to go.
Galatians 2:20 says: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” That means the moment you surrender to God, you’re giving up that old life for a brand-new one in Christ. You cannot drag the old you into the new you.
Don’t Kill the Spirit
The Spirit of God is a gift, y’all. A precious, holy gift. But here’s the truth—if you keep sinning, if you keep feeding your flesh, you choke the Spirit inside you. Romans 8:13 tells us: “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”
That means you can’t keep running back to the same poison God delivered you from. Don’t kill the Spirit when the Spirit is present. If the Spirit is living in you, let it breathe. Let it grow. Don’t suffocate it with sin.
Stop Drinking from the World’s Cup
Let’s talk straight—why drink alcohol when you know the Holy Spirit is in you? Why poison yourself when God has already poured the purest, most life-giving gift into your soul? The world wants you to think a little sip here and there is harmless. But 1 Corinthians 6:19 reminds us: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.”
That means you don’t get to do whatever you want with your body. Your body belongs to God now. So why would you fill His temple with poison? Why would you disrespect the gift He placed in you?
I’m not here to sugarcoat it—alcohol, drugs, lust, gossip, hate, all of that is poison. Every time you let it in, you’re starving your Spirit. You’re feeding the flesh instead of feeding your faith.
Feed the Spirit the Things of God
If you really want to live, you’ve got to feed the Spirit. Just like your body needs food, the Spirit needs nourishment. And it doesn’t come from worldly pleasures—it comes from the Word of God. It comes from prayer, fasting, worship, and surrounding yourself with people who are walking in truth.
Matthew 4:4 says: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” That’s the real food. That’s how the Spirit grows strong in you.
So if you’re spending more time on social media than in your Bible, guess what? You’re feeding the wrong thing. If you’re filling your mind with gossip blogs, toxic music, and worldly nonsense, don’t be surprised when your Spirit feels weak. Feed it the things of God, and watch it come alive in you.
Die to Live
Here’s the bottom line: you must die to live. Completely. Not halfway. Not on Sundays only. Not when it’s convenient. But every single day, you take up your cross and you choose Christ over sin.
Romans 6:6 tells us: “Our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.”
So if you really want freedom, if you really want peace, if you really want joy that can’t be taken away—then let the old you die. Don’t run back to sin. Don’t kill the Spirit. Let Christ live fully in you.
Closing Thought from Ya Girl Renae:
Family, God has given us a gift too valuable to throw away. The Spirit wants to live. It wants to breathe. But it’s up to you to create the space by dying to your old self. Don’t poison the temple. Don’t grieve the Spirit. Feed it the things of God and watch your whole life transform.
It’s time to die so you can finally live.
Trump articles being surpressed
It feels like if you’re saying something positive, everything is fine. But if you’re questioning things or expressing concerns, suddenly your content isn’t getting the same visibility. That’s what bothers me.
