I’m honestly sick of it — sick of watching people in power throw tantrums like toddlers every time they don’t get their way. So Mamdani wins over Cuomo, big deal! That’s democracy. The people voted, and the results are what they are. But now Trump’s allegedly threatening to “do some bad things to New York”? Talking about cutting funding, pulling support for social programs like food stamps, and “teaching the state a lesson”? Excuse me, but since when did governing become a personal revenge mission? 🤦🏽♀️
What happened to serving the American people — all of them, not just the ones who cheer your name at rallies? New York has millions of hard-working people who depend on federal programs to feed their families, get medical care, and simply survive the cost of living. Punishing them because Mamdani (a progressive voice who’s been standing up for working-class folks) beat out Cuomo (a name long tied to New York power circles) is the definition of political cruelty.
And let’s be real — Trump’s grudge with New York goes way back. Ever since the state turned its back on him, it’s been one insult after another. He calls it a “failed state,” mocks its leadership, and now, after Mamdani’s projected win, he’s apparently furious again. But here’s the truth: Trump doesn’t hate New York because it’s broken — he hates it because it won’t bow down to him anymore. 🙄
What’s worse is the way his supporters eat it up. You’ve got people online cheering at the idea of cutting food assistance or housing funds, as if that’s going to “own the libs.” Meanwhile, it’s regular families — parents, seniors, veterans — who would suffer. Do people really think hurting innocent citizens is a win? Politics has gotten so toxic that people don’t even see the humanity in one another anymore.
Mamdani represents something Trump and his circle can’t stand: progress and accountability. Whether you agree with all his policies or not, the man actually listens to communities. He’s focused on tenants’ rights, affordable housing, and fighting corporate greed. Compare that to a billionaire who brags about cutting taxes for the rich and threatens poor people over election results. The contrast couldn’t be clearer.
If Trump follows through with his threats — pulling funds, blocking state programs, or worse — it won’t just be an act of revenge. It’ll be a message to every American: “If your state doesn’t support me, I’ll make you pay.” That’s not democracy. That’s dictatorship energy, plain and simple.
New York has always been resilient, and it’ll bounce back from this nonsense like it always does. But honestly, it’s time for leaders — on all sides — to stop treating politics like a reality show and start acting like grown-ups again. Because the people deserve better than ego-driven threats and power plays.

If he really cuts off food stamps, he’s not punishing politicians he’s punishing single moms, kids, and seniors. This is heartbreaking. Some of us depend on those programs to survive. 💔
I don’t even like Cuomo, but this ain’t about politics anymore. Threatening to “do bad things” to Americans for voting how they want is straight-up authoritarian behavior. Disgusting. 😤
Mamdani’s victory was symbolic it shows people are tired of the same political families running New York. Cuomo had his time. But Trump’s response? That’s just childish revenge. 🙄
Exactly! 👏👏 Mamdani won fair and square. Trump needs to stop acting like the country is his personal business. Cutting people’s food stamps or funding to make a point is pure evil.
Wow 😳 this whole thing is wild. I live in NY and it’s scary to think that a president (or former president) could threaten an entire state just because of an election result. Like… aren’t we supposed to be the “United” States?
