East Arcadia has to do better when it comes to the mail situation because this is honestly getting ridiculous. I am beyond frustrated that in order for me to have a UPS package picked up or even dropped off, I have to drive almost 20 minutes out just to get to a location that handles it. The closest real option being near Wilmington, NC makes absolutely no sense for people living in smaller towns. Not everybody has the time, gas money, or flexibility to keep driving all over the place just to return a package, ship something, or pick something up.
What makes this even more aggravating is the fact that people in small towns matter too. We order things online just like everybody else. We run businesses from home, send important documents, return products, and depend on delivery services. So why are smaller communities always treated like an afterthought when it comes to basic services? It feels like if you don’t live in a larger city, companies and local systems just expect you to “figure it out” on your own.
And let’s be honest, this becomes even more stressful when you work during normal business hours or have family responsibilities. Nobody should have to plan half their day around dropping off one package. It should not be this complicated in 2026 to access something as basic as UPS services closer to home.
East Arcadia and surrounding areas deserve better access, better convenience, and better support when it comes to mail and package services. People are tired of being overlooked simply because they live in a rural town. We pay money just like everyone else, and we deserve the same level of convenience too.
